How Best To Pray And Receive Answer From God by madumelu(op): 6:26pm On Nov 21, 2017
That was likely an exact question the disciples asked Jesus, “Lord teach us how to pray“.

Is that surprising? Mind you, that you know what to pray for doesn’t mean you know how to pray, nevertheless the question of the disciples goes ‘lord teach us how to pray“.

Perhaps and for emphasis sake, the problem of Jesus’ disciples isn’t that they have no burden or any problem to talk to God about. They problem was how best to present their burdens, requests, needs, problems or petitions to God and receive an answer.

Now I ask again, could they be anything that can hinder our prayers from being answered by God. Oh yes, there’s a lot of them and listed below are good ways to present your prayer and receive answers from God.

Pray with a pure heart –
I keep asking? Why is it that many prayer conference and submit are organized more than any other religious activities in our nowadays churches? Yet the more these prayers are made; the more it seems iniquities and evil abounds and things are getting wrong.

Perhaps, with the researches I have made so far and through the aid of the bible (the word of God); I came to understand that what matters in praying bores down not only in the length of the prayer itself but mainly with the one/s offering the prayers.

We know that God’s nature is pure and has nothing to do with anything outside that. So Praying to God outside purity no matter hours spent is just a waste of your time and energy. Perhaps, the Bible tells us, “The prayer of a sinner is an abomination unto God“.

However, before you stand to make your prayers, make sure you are at peace with God, for purity is the only functioning link that connects one to God and by which God can also get back to you (see, Matt 5:cool.

But take good note, the only prayer of a sinner i believe God cares for is that of confession, repentance and reconciliation.

2) Pray with faith –

You can never receive anything from God if you have no faith. Faith, if I should say is that qualifying certificate you have to show first to receiving from God.

What then is faith? According to Apostle Paul’s definition while he was writing to the Hebrews 1 vs. 1, he said, “faith is the assurance of thing hope for; the evidence of thing not seen“.

Do you know to receiving from God; you have your own part to play. Everything does not bore down to God alone.
Nevertheless the best simplified definition I have gotten about faith is simply this, faith is acting on what you believe and that is the word of God. That tells us to believe is not enough to receiving from God as well as knowing the word of God; nor do they guarantee us God’s promises and answers in prayers. We need to act on that which we know/heard/have been taught and believed in.

Let’s look at a good illustration of believe and faith at work. In the story of Jesus walking on the sea; the Bible noted that when the disciples saw Jesus far off walking on the sea they thought it was a ghost and were much puzzled.

“But immediately he spoke to them, saying, “take heart, it is I; have no fear.
And Peter answered, “Lord if it is you, bid me to come to you on the water.
He said “come”. So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus” – Matt 14:27-29.

Here, Peter made a request to Jesus, and when Jesus had granted his request, he never doubt or begin asking himself ‘how could this be possible‘ just as Mary requested of Angel Gabriel, who told her, she would conceived and bear a son without knowing any man.

Simon Peter simply believed and quickly acted on what he believed (he lifted up his feet and began stepping on the waters). This is exactly how God wants us to approach him. He wants us to accept our answers even before we have it – and that is faith (the evidence of thing not seen).

Learn how to pray in faith if you must receive answers to your request. God looks out for the faithful ones not the double minded or doubtful ones. The woman with the issue of blood equally got her healing because she acted on faith likewise all others who have received from God. For she said, “if I touch even his garment, I shall be made well” – Mark 6:28.

Kenneth E. Hagin, one of the world celebrated preacher of all time said, “It’s not struggling, laboring and trying to believe that brings results. It’s acting on God’s Word that brings results“.

However, the bible says.
“Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, be taken up and cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” – Mark 11:23-25.

4) Avoid selfish request –

The first approach to avoid selfish request is to know God’s will and to know God’s will, you must study and mediate daily on the Word (see Josh 1:cool.
Most times we pray in faith and as well with a pure heart but still don’t receive answers to our prayers. Don’t begin to question God foolishly or threatening yourself to abandoning him because you can’t threaten God but rather ask yourself this question ‘is my prayer in line with God’s Word and does it in any way contradicts God’s Word?‘.

The Bible, God’s Word made it again clear to us, “you ask and do not receive because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your own passion” – James 4:3

Examine clearly to you if only you pray all the time for yourself and well-being and abandoning others, probably your family, the church, less privileged, those in authorities both government and otherwise etc. Know today that God is not involved in such kind of prayer. This is an act of selfishness and you know God abhors selfish people. His will is that we should live for all, make others first, and intercede for others not just only ourselves.

Eph 6:18 says “Pray at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all Saith”

The ancient’s church or believers were never trained to only pray for themselves. They also pray for the Apostles who teach them. And it was their prayer that saved Peter while he was in Prison and others who escape death from the enemies of the early church.
Nevertheless, God has a will and he has beforehand ordained all things how it should be. So to also receive from God, your will ought to concur with his plans or will. Doing otherwise attract the opposite – no answer from him.

According to 1 John 5:14, “the confidence we have in him is that, whenever we pray according to his will, he answers us”

5) Pray with a forgiving heart

You remember the question of the Disciples to Jesus concerning prayer, Lord teach us how to pray? Jesus at the cause of the prayer-teaching prayed thus, “…forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us“.

However and in the other way, when you pray to God why you refuse to forgive others who wrong you, what you are simply and legally telling God is never to hear you just as you have done towards others.

UNFORGIVENESS which birth bitterness within (i.e. in the heart) can prevent one from receiving answers to prayers from God. Knowing full well that God is a man of his word and as the bible tells us, even when we fail, he still remain faithful because he cannot deny himself (2 Tim 2:13).

Therefore, before to stand to pray make sure you live in peace with all men and that is the will of God (see Heb 12:14). Don’t choose for yourself who to like and dislike. Hatred is not and can never be part of God’s nature. Perhaps, the bible urges us to forgive as our heavenly father has forgiven us (see Col 3:13).

In conclusion of everything, I want you to strongly mediate on this bible passage, “And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins” – Mark 11:25.

REMAIN BLESSED

these are lies! undecided

You see, Scripture states that God does not answer the prayers of the unrighteous; the pleas and requests and every petition, praise, offering, work, plea, sacrifice, etc., of the unrighteous are tainted by their sins(disobedience/unholiness) and are hence an abomination to God. So, what is definite is that even your many pleas for the forgiveness of sins are not answered by God given that God made no special exemptions for that kind of plea. No amount of praying can cause God to change His mind regarding that which concerns the unrighteous by the way. So if you are thinking of prescribing more prayers that only means you really don't understand or know God at all. undecided

God, however, openly bragged about how He only answers the prayers of the righteous; He delights in granting them the desires of their heart meaning that they are those who he loves. For this very reason, Jesus Christ urged His followers to seek first the Kingdom of God and God's Righteousness in order that all things— the blessings and rewards of the Kingdom of God(holiness), answers to prayers included—shall be added on to them. And as Jesus Christ explained in His Gospel, the only way to become Holy, and then also Righteous, is by way of continuous submission and obedience to the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ, god's Truth and Law in the Kingdom of god - John 8 vs 31 - 36 & John 14 vs 15 - 23. Jesus Christ is the only way. Obedience to the Truth of God is the one and only path to Gof and to His righteousness. No amount of praying and other religious rituals can accomplish that. undecided

God deals indirectly with the unrighteous, the same way He deals with the unbelievers including the wicked and the ungrateful and that is by pouring out His mercy and kindness on them daily. So every time as an unrighteous you feel that God has answered your prayer know that at that same moment, or moments before that, God also provided the same mercy or similar to someone else across the world — or maybe just across from you— who does not even believe in God, nor asked God for anything. So, if answers from God are what you seek, then do what Jesus Christ said you should, which is to seek first the Kingdom of God(holiness), and then God's righteousness, in order that all these things —the blessings and rewards of the Kingdom of God(including answers to prayers) can be added to you. undecided
