ITS OFFICIAL!!!!!!!!!...

LADY K will now be known as Mrs K...

This time yesterday morning, i was so nervous.

it is 5:25am right now. Waking up in our hotel room this morning, i keep smiling watching her sleep, her hair coiled over her face and her 'backside" positioned so that when she farts, the diffusion starts right from my side of the bed grin grin grin. Well, i signed up for this. I haven't seen changes right now except this round, golden looking metal on one of my left hand-fingers closest to the left pinkie finger.

Life is good grin.

I have a plane to catch later in the evening.. short trip (pics definitely)
Congratulations bro, blessings in your new journey. Enjoy.

We applied as a family the first time. The consular only granted my dad visa (The elderly are easily granted visa) and denied myself and my siblings (Stating we do not have strong ties back home). I took up the challenge after going through this thread and Yes!!! I re-applied within a month because it was my first time then and I wasn't experienced and was kinda scared.
Nothing changed in my documents, the only thing that changed was me. A new me, a more experienced me, full of boldness and ready to question the consular for rejecting me visa and a better way to present my story for him to see reasons why I should be granted visa. It worked!!!

kind of. She is a better "reader" than i am. She doesn't wait to get things done. Remember the immigration forms from USCIS, she filled it out the next day. She called my dad for some family information when i wasn't replying her text.

She always wants to do things as quick as possible. She reads a novel while i play FIFA grin. When she sleeps, i have learned not to wake her up. She gets really angry/grumpy if her sleep gets disrupted.

I am a laid back person, if it doesn't involve school or grade or employment or work, i take my time to do it. if you have lived in the Caribbean for a while you will easily be laid back, "No rush" kind of person grin

grin cheesy...Ok after the first interview, I re-applied considering the fact that, for every rule, there is always an exception. Fast forward to the whole process and arrived the window.
Me: Goodmorning and happy thanksgiving
Vo: Thank you, can I get your passport please
Me: Passed my passport and sister's passport to him
Vo: How are you related?
Me: We are siblings
Vo: where are you visiting in America
Me: Minnesota
Vo: why do you want to visit Minnesota
Me: For my sister's graduation next month
Vo: What do you do?
Me: I work with blah blah and my sister also responded
Vo: Are you married?
Me: Yes to my darling wife then continued with stories about my wife. Where she works, how long she has been working with them and I also stated that she is heavy and due by February and I can't miss the delivery for anything in the world. My sister also told her story
Vo: That's nice congratulations
Me: Thank you
Vo: Starts to type for a long time
Vo: Have you applied for a visa recently
Me: Yes. Myself and my family
Vo: Why were you rejected
Me: I sincerely don't know why I have a promising career here, I am married and I am moving up the ladder of my career in good pace, I have a stable income and I will be responsible for my expenses.
Vo: Continued with his typing and brought out the blue paper... Unfortunately you do not meet the requirements
Me: Hold on please. Brought out the letter and presented it to the consular. While he was reading the letter myself and my sister appealed to him to see reason why he has to grant even if it's just one of us so we can assist dad to make the trip.
Vo: After he was done reading, looked at us, smiled and said I would consider this. Picked up our passports re-scanned it and started typing again
Me: I was already dancing within me and Thanking God for the boldness
Vo: After he was done typing, he brought out the white paper, circled the address for pickup and said we will be contacted my mail or via the phone number we provided.
Me: Thank you so much for granting us our family wish.
Started leaving and plenty congratulations followed...Lol
Sounds so unreal but this was my experience.

This is much better and it is very safe too since they don't know your Nairaland affiliations. Pardon me asking, Why did you not submit the notarized letter together with the application forms or initially when you got to Embassy? Why wait?

I faced the same issue after having been denied of my UK visa some few years back as a result some inconsistency with my bank account. I was naive then, I had been allowing friends deposit into my account and I do a fund transfer for them. So the UK High Commission people saw cash inflows into my account which I did not acknowledge as a source of income for me or why it was there in my statement.

Anyway, I was denied and fast forward to about 3 years later when I needed to go for my graduation and other family visits, I made sure prior to this new application, I stopped all deposits not my salary to the account and presented it with well documented 'story' of my earnings and why my previous application was rejected.

I got a 1 year visa and I enjoyed every bit of my trip back then. I wish you and your family a very wonderful trip and safe delivery to your wife too.

Thank you all for the wishes. I have been so drained (the short flight et al). I slept at my 2nd job yesterday. Locked myself in the restroom, slept for like 25 mins.

Mrs K is doing alright. She said we must change our diet and eat healthier and exercise more, i should read more books so we can be in a good mental state and prepare to have a baby (see me se wahalah, no be to just do am more often? grin grin).

Now, our budget for groceries is about 150% higher. We most likely will be spending 150-200$ on foods (really good stuffs like she said, i no really too care)

Everything is okay. We are still the same person from before marriage. still busy working crazily.. Later in the day, i'll talk a bit more about Guy M and him wahalah grin grin

PS: my permit is expiring in few days (less than 3 weeks), so i might not be talking about work anymore. Just put it at the back of your mind say your boy still dey hustle.

Nigerians living in the US have a fantasy of having properties back home, i wonder why? Probably a place for them to stay when they visit Nigeria,
any ways home is home always.

How easy is it to set 1 up?

e no too hard. However, no be like barbing for naija wey barber go use one clipper all through.

Dem get different clippers for different things in different sizes.

the one for shape, the one for beard, the one for the hair, the one for eye lids. Several several clippers, e go taya you sef.

dem even dey use one kain Knife/blade looking knife give you haircut.

so you go need invest in several clippers. Start small though. if people see you are good, dem go find you come anywhere.

boss. I like you. Congrats on ur successes so far. More power to ur elbow.

Am in Qatar now. Earning good pay as a Safety personel. However qatar is a hot, muslim country and even tho its fast developing, there are still mega restrictions and lack of openness and most jobs here are in construction cos its a developing nation. If Construction finish? Then no more work. I cant be here when that happens. I need to move and it has to be U.S cos no matter the country I move to, if its not U.s, i wont feel settled. And by move i mean move to u.s forever. No more coming back to Naija. Raise american family, live and die in america.

What are my options. How best can i come to u.s. Am late 20s, single, bsc holder, smart have about 2mil naira in savings so far. Wanna move from qatar latest 2020.

Thanks in anticipation and congrats again

Hmmm. There are several options for you. i'd have to reply your post later. Make i go prepare for work

Congratulations BJ, wish you all the blessings that comes with getting married. I have been a silent reader since inception and I have truly gained so much experience from your thread. Through reading your thread, I have gone to register for GRE and I have also learnt that self confidence and believe is all it takes to make anything happen. Thanks a lot bro because you have changed perspective to several things.
Most importantly, I applied for B1/B2 visa last month along side my Dad and my other siblings and we were rejected but my dad was granted visa. I took up the challenge and re-applied for myself and my younger sister after first experience at the embassy and lots of hours going through the thread. There was no available date for interview again both in Lagos and Abuja so I called the embassy through someone's help to get us a date and fortunately, we got scheduled for today 9:30am.
To cut the long epistle short, I was solid strong inside of me to go all out and convince the consular on reason why I have to be granted a visa. After much questions and debate, MYSELF AND MY SISTER WAS GRANTED A VISA!!!!....I am just so happy right now.
Thank you BJ and every other person that has advised, suggested and rebuked certain actions. I am a beneficiary of your wisdom...God Bless you all...

YES!!!!... i am happy for you bro.. You see what i was saying. OLD people dey get visa for embassy. E no matter what their reason is. I have heard about a 72years old go to embassy and say "he just want to visit america before he die", dem knack am visa.

If young guy try am, dem go just dey laff am during him interview.

Now bro, you need to plan it well from now, come to yankee on the reason you got your visa, look around and go back naija. Then, you can use your visa again.

you have more options now, i'll suggest you look into F1 visa, your B1/B2 makes your F1 a lot more easier now. However, if that isn't your route, I will also not discourage you from other benefits your B1/B2 gives you. If you're not married yet (i really don't know your situation), maybe it is time to consider other reasons to choose your "bae" wisely.

Don't let no one decieve you, everyone marries for benefits: christain sisters wants a "prayerful, god fearing" brother, Slay queen wants a rich guy, normal naija girls wants a tall, dark, sexy, educated guy.

It isn't a bad thing if you add "american" to your own requirement. grin. Just make sure "love" comes first and find what works for you.

Yeah, you can even walk around the street. Nobody care.

Except as a black man, i won't advise such especially if people don't know you in the area.
Oyinbo people dey exaggerate things o. Dem fit call 911 say dem see one black man looking suspicious like he has a wepon.
So, you sef need use sense. Why you go walk about at night when you have your car?. If you want to, move with friends, i won't suggest another black friend like you. Move wirh a white friend, people tend to be more relaxed seeing you in company of someone rhat makes them fwel relaxed.

Pleasw note, this experience is from white populated area.

YES!!!. F1 process doesn't start from Visa application. It starts from the admission process and it is a long process. Start to dey apply for school. Infact, you can even visit the schools (department) you want to apply to during your visit to the US and talk to someone. I believe it gives you a higher chance somehow
