The embattled former Chairman of the Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT), Abdulrasheed Maina, has volunteered to testify as a state witness against the 43 pension thieves he arrested while in office.

Maina said he would appear before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, only if the anti-graft agency is ready to account for the recovered cash and asset worth N1.63tr.

Maina, speaking through his lawyer, Barr Sani Katu, said he is ready to turn himself in on the condition that the agency would resume the prosecution of the suspects he had apprehended.

He also said Government should know that he is not on the run, but fears for his life, as some elements within the EFCC feel threatened by evidences and documents in his possession that could send them to jail.

While there may be some elelment of truth in what maina is saying, in Law, it is alwas said that "He who must come to EQUITY, must come with CLEAN Hands".

A FUGITIVE (someone declared Wanted b the authorities) IS NOT in a position to GIVE CONDITIONS upon which he would surrender himself to the Courts or decide to make himself a "State Witness" or does his Lawyer not know what it means and what it involves, for someone to be called a State Witness?
If he is VERY CERTAIN of what he is saying, the BEST he can do is to THROW THOSE DOCUMENTS OPEN INTO THE "COURT OF PUBLIC OPINION", thereby establishing his innocence to the public first, and then surrender himself to the authorities (Court system), immediately after.

But to be on run while evading arrest...only to be telling porkys from some hidden place like a common criminal, just wont cut it.
As far as 'the law" is concerned, MAINA IS A CRIMINAL FUGITIVE.

You are very perceptive, unlike most folks around here!
If he did not find it 'useful' to expose these people he is pointing finger at, since 2011, is it now that he is in the run, that he expects anyone to beleive he is not just saying these things so he can get immunity from prosecution (as a state witness!)?

But like you said, Buhari has surrounded himself with CRIMINALS (even when he claims he does not tolerate corruption!), the likes of Babachir Lawal, AGF Malami (just wondering why all our AGF's since Bola Ige was nurdered, are criminals?), DSS Lawal Daura , Abba Kyari, e.t.c but his "Na my brother Syndrome" will not allow him see what these crimanls are doing to his public image and public perception, with 2019 just around the corner. undecided
