Steering Control Buttons Not Responding After Battery Disconnection by davit(op): 8:28pm On Nov 22, 2017
Hello everyone. I happened to disconnect the battery of my Lexus RX 330 more than a week to start another vehicle. One thing I discovered after reconnecting my battery is that all the buttons at the steering control like volume up.down and MODE not responding again. They show light but not controlling my radio anymore. About a week has gone by now, and no change.

Has anyone had this issue before? Any one with a solution?
Thanks.

Check for a blown fuse. If all is fine you just might be having an issue with your steering angle sensor. Any prior work done before disconnecting the battery

It’s also possible that the control button socket underneath the steering airbag is disconnected. It also needs to be inspected if there are no blown fuses.

No work done. It was working perfectly before I removed the battery.

Old thread. I hope the original poster sees this and respond, as to let me know how he was able to solve his problem then, because I am having the same issue now. I recently had this problem on my 05 RX330 as of this Jan 2025. Disconnected battery for a 5 days travel, came back, started driving, noticed that the steering audio control buttons had stopped working till now, only the mode works the volume and change buttons don't work and they all show lights. I have checked everything to make it work, still can't find solution. It was working perfectly well before battery disconnection.
