Nigeria is a multi ethnic state with many differing local languages. How do you expect it to work here? What local language would you use to label the diagram when your students are from different ethnic groups? If you use Igbo, the Yorubas and Hausas in the class will complain; if you use Yoruba, the Igbos and Hausas would complain. That is why we have a unifying language (English) used in the classroom.

All in their local language.. Now think how fun and easy it will be if we can teach and learn in our own local language... Africa wake up
Korean language is not just a local language, it is the official and national language of North and South Korea. But here, our official language is English. How will you label a diagram in Yoruba when some of your students are Igbos or Hausas? English is the unifying language in Nigeria.

Hello guys, I and a group of friends will be organizing a fun filled nairaland pool party in ilorin, kwara state come next month, plans and logistics are already underway. we have decided to.

1. Create publicity for the event.
2. Invite nairalanders who would love to participate in one way or the other, in planning.
3. Give opportunity to up coming artist to show themselves
4. Up coming comedians, Dancers (groups) as well
5. D.Js, Vickers etc. kindly note 3-5 who are selected to perform will be paid a token or honorarium.
6. We welcome promoters, sponsors and those who would want to advertise their products goods and services to basically youth (target audience)
7. we welcome good ideas, advice.

The party will be a bonding of nairalanders in kwara state. not affiliated to any political party, religious organization, tribe culture or any social vice, we are only gathering to make friends and catch fun in preparation or as part of the festive season.

On the big day we hope to paint nairaland red and shut it down or bring it to a stand still ensuring Nigerians feel kwara is a state to reckon with in terms of youth and social activities.

While publicity can go on in other platforms, interested participants/sponsors can call DOTUN on +2348165545018 (Whats app) or mail Oydotun@gmail.com or TAOFIK on +2348037884055 (Whats app).

Let the preparation begin

Date and time, venue, activity of events will be updated here and other platforms in December at least 5 days to the main events
Suggestions and comment will be replied here, Thanks.

RoyalBlak007:
Taiwanese illustrator and instructor Chuan-Bin Chung (鍾全斌) teaches his students about the most minuscule inner intricacies of the human body using an elementary material: chalk. During his demonstrative lectures, he creates meticulously accurate chalkboard drawings of anatomical forms, from the muscles of the face to full skeletal structures. The scrupulous sketches are both informative and aesthetically inspiring, merging Chung’s passions and proficiency in both biology and art.

“Yes, we have a textbook. But we don’t read it, we draw it,” the dedicated teacher explained to A&grin. “Students, majoring in this area, cannot learn by just reading the pictures on books. Instead, we learn while drawing something. In my classes, students have to draw what I am demonstrating on the chalkboard.”

The teacher needs to go to Kaduna.

I believe he will be better been an artist than a lecturer..
How many hours is the lecture that he is drawing when he can just make use of charts.
And hope he won't request the students to draw them in their notes.
Do not conclude yet. he may have a better reasons for not using ready made charts. You never can tell, the school may not have, he has to do his job.

This is plain genius. Why can't we take a cue from the Asians. They have standardized their languages to be used for instructional content in their education.

We should also be able to standardise our pidgin so we can use it to teach our local people. I have seen a pure illiterate work on an old car successfully, only if that chap had some more localised knowledge of modern technology. We will not be needing those illiterate chinese and Indians fleecing us day in day out.

That's what we are talking about , accepted norm in contemporary Nigerian society is English as general language. If it changes to pidgin I am more than cool with it. If this was a pidgin forum I wouldn't have had any choice

This isn't something uncommon. A number of old Anatomy teachers are good artists out of necessity and in fact draw a lot in class.
