Caf Champions League and confederations cup needs serious restructuring. I don't buy the idea of having a two legged final. It should be a single match |

krushdripper:The team is well organized.. They were in the final of fifia club world cup few years back. The club is a good business. There is almost no year they don't win something. |

lilfreezy:The problem with you guys is that u all want European style of everything without considering many things.. Number one, Africa is not Europe bro.. Africans are still poor.. Many Africans can't travel from one country to another, lodge in a hotel and buy tickets to go watch matches in a neutral venue. Europeans have this well. Secondly, African clubs don't have large fan bases outside their home country. U can imagine Ahly vs Wydad Casablanca final match in Nigeria, how many Nigerians would come out to watch it? African countries are geographically far from one another.. How people are willing to travel from Egypt to Nigeria to watch their club play matches? Transportation is poor across Africa. These things made one leg final impossible for now until African countries develop in standard of living and infrastructure. CAF tried the one leg final of a thing but didn't succeed. Matches were played in an empty stadium. I can only suggest that they play super cup in a neutral venue to test cities in Africa with better crowd attendance. That is the best thing for now. |

NigerDeltan:Yes, that is everyone's favourite suggestion. However, it is somewhat impractical presently. Africa is still a poor continent with larger land mass than Europe without integrated transport systems etc. Football clubs in Africa also don't have the high profile enjoyed by top European clubs. So imagine that the CAF Confederation Cup final between TP Mazembe and Supersport United is played at Abuja, Uyo or Lagos, how many people will be at the stadium? It will cost South Africans and Congolese about $1,100 to fly to and fro Lagos, not counting cost of accommodation, feeding and entertainment. How many of their fans will be able to afford such high costs? As for the home fans in Nigeria, how many of us know or care enough about the participating clubs to bother going to the stadium to watch the final? Also, who will foot the bills attendant to the match? Cleaning the stadium, security, electricity, damages, etc etc. Nigerian govt, our FA or CAF or who? These are the practical reasons why CAF operates the current format. |
