I have this pertinent question to ask. In the Christain religion anybody can visit a church. Even moslem. Then why was my friend chased out of a Mosque? Because he wasn't a muslim.
Is the mosque not for everybody. Mind you I am not here to make trouble but I need genuine answers.

I remember my father built a grand mosque for the people of kogi state but I have never been to it. Please answer so others can learn too

# Is your friend a male or female?

He/she was chased out probably because "they believe" he/she is not clean, this is how Muslims see non-believers, if your friend is a female maybe she didn't cover her hair and body properly.

If he/she is there for conversion or to know about the religion, the mosques I know don't chase them out.

There is a cousin of mine that's a Christian, he used to to follow us to the mosque everytime he visit and he's not chased out.

It depends on where the mosque is located, there are fanatic Muslims that detest non-believers with passion.

OP, you didn't state what your friend was doing in the mosque?

What was your friend looking for in a Mosque when he isn't a Muslim?

Let sleeping dogs lie.

# For example, in the west where Islam is being portray by their media in a negative ways, westerners are very curious to see what's going on inside that place of worship; hence, you see many of them on a tour to a particular mosque. Here's an example:

# There is an authentic narration that the Prophet of Islam hosted the Christian priests of Najran (the then southern Arabia) in his blessed mosque for days and nights. They engaged themselves in lots of issue and discourse.

# The King of Abyssinia (the present day Ethiopia) who was a Christian hosted the first Muslims migrants, and they make use of his Church to say their Salat.

# During the ISIS domination of Christian populated area of Iraq where many are being killed and persecuted, 1000s of Christians made the Mosque of Imam Ali in Kufa as a safe haven.

# Of course, there are some fanatics that wouldn't allow non-muslim to even walk pass a mosque not to mention of entering it.

# However, Churches, Synagogues and Mosques should be respected for their purposes whereby if you don't really have business inthere, there's no need going there to cause a commotion. And courtesy demands that primary rules and regulations guiding those places should be observe before entering it if there's need to. Things like removal of shoes, covering of hair for women etc.
