NYSC should take care of all his medical expenses, he was on a Journey to serve his motherland.
I pray they do, it's so sad. I feel his pain, that of his parents. After much labour, this fate wasn't foreseen but who are we to question God?

Some mumu go come here come de talk say make them barn NYSC not knowing accident could happen anywhere at anytime...

To the young man, the Lord will surely make a way for you, all your dreams in life will come to reality.
People are not mumu, they're more sensible. Does NYSC have any cover for these eventualities? No, so why risk your life for a program that caters not even about your basic wellbeing? If this happened in a sane country, NYSC would bear all his treatment cost, and even indemnify the guy.

The problem is not endemic to just NYSC as a body, is an holistic matter concerning the country as a whole, even during excursions accidents occur, that does not mean excursions should be cancelled in our institutions, that is my point.

So first class graduates are not supposed to die or involved in an Accident? lol.. Nigerians eh, most of yall IQ is too low...
stephenduru:
Emeka,a 1st class graduate recently got involved in a road accident on his way to Lagos for NYSC.

Emeka was strong, energetic young man full of life till the sad event that happened on 20th of November. As a 1st class graduate of the Micheal Okpara university of Agriculture he has great hopes for the future.

Due to the severity of the accident which affected his spinal cord he cannot move his body parts. About 4 million is needed for his treatment to continue as he is on life support and further corrective surgeries. The family has already exhausted their little funds. He needs our help.

He is presently at UNTH Enugu but needs to be transferred to MEMFYs hospital for Neurosurgery at Enugu state.

We can't do it all alone and that is why we areusing this medium to reach out to all friends, families , kind hearted Nigerians to help him as we fight hard to save our brother Emeka.

The family and friends honestly need your help in this trying time

Having a serious injury or illness in Nigeria is a death sentence because 80% of Nigerian "doctors" are quacks!

Well, if the benevolent Almighty God wanted to save Emeka he would have ensured there was no accident in the first place!
In fact, from the day Emeka was born:
- the Omniscient God knew Emeka would be involved in an accident that would break his spinal cord,
- the Omniscient God knew Emeka's parents would be financially broke from paying his hospital bills

No GOOD father or mother would want his or her child to pass through unbearable pain!

This scheme is a sham!!! You made it compulsory to waste one year of the lives of the youths by making service compulsory, is it too much to have a partnership with a domestic airline to fly these people to their various states of deployment? Now look at how Nigeria is wrecking her future by destroying those that are capable of turning things around.

When I tell graduates NYSC isn't something to look forward to, they criticise me heavily. You live one year of your life accepting all forms of crap from people that don't even match half your level of formal education (no apologies) and yet they throw you all out after one year, no plans for you at all.

And to think NYSC's budget this year alone is over 70 billion naira and they will still run to Ministry of Finance for supplement, this is what we still get.
...and if in the course of flying them to their places/states of deployment there is an crash, you will still come here to moan. Read thru ur advice again, consider the economic/financial implications, before u spew what's in ur medulla. Speedy healing to the sick guy.

You're still wrong! Excursion isn't compulsory, so if you willingly put your life at risk for it, then it's your choice. Since NYSC is mandatory, then some sort of responsibility must be borne by the organization, else, it should be scrapped.

Your analysis are according to the bizzare teachings of the Church.

The God of the universe is not what religion portrayed him to be . Don't be deceived.

Excuse me. Does that make air travel less safer than road? Do you know how many corpers die yearly due to this negligence? Do you know over one million naira is allegedly budgeted for each corper and flying them to their statea of deployment is too much too ask out of a budget of 70 billion plus? Lol! The economic and financial implications seem to be positive. If you think otherwise, I guess you forgot to mention because you were more interesred in throwing tantrum rather than engage in an objective argument premised on facts?

Next time, learn to listen to opposing opinions without necessarily accepting them, it's a sign of an educated mind. If that is too much, then avoid mentioning me, going forward.

Well, objectively, NO ONE knows the qualities of the "God" of the universe (If there is a "God" in the first place, it could be a IT, HE or SHE). All Gods currently worshiped by humans are imaginary.
