Gurus, please advice. DOnt really understand the dangons in this GCMS notes

Hello Sir/Ma,

Your GCMS Note is talking about your HOME TIES and not dangons(as you refer it). Your app was refused based on HOME TIES.
Also you have to check to your refusal letter too.
*What was on your letter?
*On what ground were you denied based on your refusal letter.

Put more effort constructing a convincing SOP, that will portary you as a genuine student that will complete a course of study in Canada and depart.

Below are possible ways to tackle home ties as a reason for refusal of study permit.

1-)Do you have any family landed property in your name, this can serve as a hometies.
2-)Are you married with kids. Your spouse can serve as your hometie.
3-)Do you have any job offer awaiting you in NIgeria after completion of your studies in Canada
4-)Do you have any registered operating business back home(it also a home tie)
5-)Your family members.

I hope this helps.

All the best!

it depends..... if the program you going for is 6 month or less no need of medicals BUT if it's more than 6 month then you ought to have been called for medicals... when did you apply? and what program are you going for?

The program is 8 months. It is a certificate course in human resources and I applied 12th of October

I applied for Interdisciplinary PhD at MUN this Winter 2018. Application status says Decision Made, but nothing is communicated to me yet. What does it mean?
mcobex:
MUN will be in a better position to tell you if you qualify for admission or not. Concerning the English language proficiency, cases defer. When I applied for admission I was admitted without sitting for any English exam, all I did was get a letter from my previous school stating I was taught in English language during my program and that worked. A friend of mine(in this same thread) didn't have same luck this year as he was asked to provide a result. So your case can only be judge by MUN alone

Hello fam,
My visa was refused on 25th and I just got my GCMSNOTES today. See below for their reason for refusal and kindly advise accordingly. Many thanks!

Pa completed a university degree in home country and has been following a career since. Now wishes to study for a Master’s degree at University of Manitoba in order to enhance career prospects. Cost of studies is rather significant in light of pa’s/family’s financial situation and am not satisfied that any possible increase in income in future would justify such a significant expense. Studies to be supported by parents. There is no indication that pa’s parent are or were gainfully employed. Am not satisfied that pa’s ties to home country are sufficient to compel pa to leave Canada at the end of authorized stay and that motivation to study is genuine. Am not satisfied that pa’s career prospect in home country justify pa’s stated motivation and that the plan described in pa’s submission is sound. Am not satisfied that motivation to study is genuine. Refused

Hello all. I'm a silent reader and have learnt so much from this thread. I'm yet to apply for my study permit but I'm sure that with God on my side coupled with the things I've learnt from this thread, there wouldn't be any issue and I'm grateful for that. There's a recent trend I'm noticing, questions are rarely answered these days, I admit many of these questions asked are unnecessary because most of the answers can be found if only people read previous thread or even go to page 0 of this particular thread but there are still some questions I feel are really important that the gurus rarely answer these days..........
N.B. I'm very sorry for the long post

Gurus didn't become gurus by consuming alone. Let's all be proactive rather than waiting on gurus to create time to answer us.
You too, when you see questions from people...try and reply them "to the best of your knowledge" or point them to where they can get the needed answers.

Hey guys,

I just checked my application online and I discovered that review of medical results status has changed to "we did not receive your medical results.check below for instructions".
When I received the mail to go for medicals a month ago,I sent an email to accra immigration that I had done my medicals upfront.the mail was acknowledged and they said the document has been added to my file.I don't know why I'm seeing this new status

Gurus please advice..what can I do?

Thank you.

Please go on ahead and pay for the redocummentation. The form CIC sent is specifically for you. The Hospital will input the number in the form to your medical results and forward to CIC. Your application would be updated in a few days.

It’s actually better than to keep reminding them you had upfront medicals, I’m sure they’re quite aware of that. Make it easier for them to treat your file, it’s for your benefit.

However, it’s also your choice if you want to keep mailing and sending reminders. Time is of essence.

I know everybody has a life to live and will be really busy and I'm not at the other end so I wouldn't know how difficult it is shuffling between school and trying to make ends meet which might make it not easy coming online and keeping up with most things that is posted here here but pls I'm begging the gurus, don't let this our lovely thread die because so many people gained lot of knowledge from here which made their travelling easier, as much as possible try to create small time to help we the novice. A friend recently got denied and before applying he reached out to few people, so his SOP can be reviewed but there was no response from anybody. I really appreciate all the efforts you've all made and I'm a beneficiary of getting tremendous help from few people on this thread but going through the previous thread and reading old posts, I could feel the love amongst people that had not even met each other which is gradually fading away here, everybody really tried their best to help each other out then, please let's return to the Status quo, so this platform will not die. To the newbies I'm sure if you can just take out time to read well, many unnecessary questions will be avoided and it will be easier to notice the more important questions. I pray travel falls on all genuine applicants in Jesus name. Thank you
N.B. I'm very sorry for the long post

Personally, I have been trying to create time to come here everyday and share and answer questions and learn a thing or two myself. I have been buried under an avalanche of request from people to review their SOP, one question or the other. It has not been easy even just replying to people's emails because to do so, would mean I would have no life. So please be patient if you have written to me. I will eventually get back to you I promise. Slowly making my way up the email. It shall end in praise!!

Ps: for those with questions, it is usually better to ask it here on this forum so it answered and people learn, solving questions that could have been asked by so many people if you had not asked it here. This will help reduce the workload.

Gud morning people.
Please i need your advice. Am applying for study visa today. Paper route.
I am 22 yrs applying for an undergraduate program in economics.
# I am single but have a son. Should I add this to my application to prove home tie?

# I already have a diploma in accounting. Should I also add this to my application?
I anticipate response from you.

Hello Sir/Ma,
You are not legally married and you have a son.
I'm sorry that won't add any advantage to your TRV application. I don't see any reason adding such to your application, it will raise eye brows and visa officer will question such act and your intend to study. I have come across a particular GCMS Note where such was noted
(APPLICANT NOT LEGALLY MARRIED BUT HAVE A CHILD, APPLICANT APPEARS TO BE USING STUDY PERMIT AS A MEANS TO FACILITATE RELOCATION TO CANADA. BASED ON THIS I'M NOT SATISFIED THAT APP IS A GENIUNE STUDENT, THAT WILL COMPLETE A COURSE OF STUDY IN CANADA AND DEPART. REFUSED!!!)

Ask yourself this, you are travelling to study in Canada and you have a son that is dependant on you, what is his fate? Do you intend leaving him here being stranded without care until you finish your 4 years academic program. I want to believe you want to use him as your home tie right?
I must tell you that you don't have any legal claims/prove/evidence that he is truly your *SON*

My candid advice is you shouldn't add such to your application, it will lead to your visa been denied.

If you decide to go by that route, i'll best suggest you are legally married. So you can be able to claim the little boy as your SON by LAW.

I hope this helps
All the best!

Sure a single parent's story can be inspirational to an admissions' committee that is why you have been admitted. You can use that to the advantage of inspiring a VO too. It is a circumstance you can use to your advantage, so do not hide anything. You can use your SOP to paint a dream you have for your son, perhaps going back to school given your adversity to teach your child the inherent values of an education. VOs love that. Yes you can leave him in Nigeria and use him as home tie. That would fly.

I don't advice the fellow to go by that route. The Visa officer will question such act.
Remember the fellow said he/she is not legally married, but single and has a SON.

Also, the fellow is dependant on his/her sponspor. So the expense burden will be on the sponspor. Not just that, the fellow is trying to use the little boy as his/her HOMETIE. What then now becomes the fate of the little child?, since the fellow is going for a 4 years undergraduate program, that will last long. Who then cater for the child's needs for this year's? and you buy the idea that he/she should add it to his/her app. Without prove nor claims for that child.

Well, I have said mine. It all depends on the Visa officer, but I'll say that again. It will raise red flag to your visa application.

All the best!

I hate to get in a controversy, but this is the wrong advice. I know a lady at my church who is a single mother and got her TRV. She used her son as home tie and going to study for one year and come back to Nigeria for sure. Depends all on how you paint your circumstance to the VO. The quoted GCMS noting someone is unmarried is not stated in the negative, but only as a note that the person is an unmarried person. Same way they always state in GCMS notes that someone is single male applying for visa.

I really do not agree with this. I think she should include her son very well. When it comes to issues like this, its best to be very open. She can say her parents will take care of the child while she is away with a very strong and emotional SOP stating that she wants to continue her career despite having an unexpected baby. This is my advice though. If for some reason she gets it without including her son, what happens years later when she is trying to relocate her son to Canada? Everything becomes complicated again. Like i said this is my opinion and its okay not to agree with it. At the end of the day she has to make the final decision on whats best for her. Kind regards.

It all boils down to if she has the financial support for her education in Canada and can prove she would return to Nigeria. I see the child's circumstance helping her, not disadvantaging her. She can come home every summer and see and spend time with son and she should state that in her SOP eloquently. Applications require grit and stamina and persuasion. Its a winnable case.
