if this slave trade was to be happening in europe or asia
buhari and his other co dullard african presidents would have issued statements of condemnation
they would have been talking about it now , just to show the world that they care
but once it is happening to their own citizens ,it doesn't bloody matter.
and we cant blame them totally too, because all these dumb blacks dont listen
it has been repeatedly echoed over the years that ppl shouldn't go to north Africa as an escape route to europe
but they wont hear, despite all these graphics images and news about slave trade going on
even as at today, many are just embarking on their journey to libya , they will never listen
they think they are smart and that God will protect them from the stupidity of their actions
THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR ANYONE TO EMBARK ON THE JOURNEY TO LIBYA

Especially AU
There is nothing African leaders could have done to stop the Western nations hell bent on removing Ghadaffi, Africa is weak militarily and most African nations relies on Western aids and trade to survive so they had no choice but to stand down and let Ghadaffi be overthrown.

this is really sad. don't we 've african leaders anymore? why 're they watching helplessly over these demons in libya perpetrate such un-speakable evils on our citizens and do nothing to stop it? shame on Au leaders. its time Au take-over the administration of libya, with the support of united nations. these extreme criminalities in libya must not be allowed to continue in this modern era. these evil criminals must be made to face justice. tufiakwa, my heart bleeds, seeing this pix of a fellow handsome african been roasted like chicken by these demons in libya, yet most of them may be praying 5 times a day, i wonder what they 'll be telling God. Pls nigerians we know the country is not easy, but don't use your legs to walk into the grave. the money budgeted for such awful journey, could be invested in the country.

[quote author=hakanai post=62791118]In as much as its horrible and deplorable, I wonder what triggers them to run away from the better environment they are into the fangs of the murderers, smugglers or hostile demons that have no regard for life.

You are here with your life in one piece. You embark on a journey at a cost of money and life to eventually be deported back. What sense is there in the option. They watch and hear on end without learning from the horrific experience of others.Tomorrow they save up 500k or 1mil to still walk that route of death.

The options back home are never worse or close to what they go through in the hands of the Libyans or smugglers. The only comparison would have been running away from war in your country in any. As for FFK comments, it's not all about the president. The problem is everywhere now from the individual to the culprits. It didn't start today and I doubt if the president did speak, it would change anything. Moreover, what Will he do? Call the Libyan government which is none existent or will he place sanctions on Libya. Probably ask every citizen if they want travel to Libya?

People need to start using their heads to stop this madness and stop such from happening to them. At the end the survivors come back thanking God they were better off in Nigeria or their respective countries.Yet people never stop trying to endanger there life. What are the chances of making it? with what I see every day, its near 0% than 100%.

What FKK is showing is just small compared to the much out there and the plenty tales people give. The migrants enrich the smugglers who never care about them and will keep pushing them on to die or be humiliated/mutilated.

Africans need to rise up and do what is right!! AU can take over that country for a start and help them establish a government. Nigeria can't do it alone. African nations need to rise up and curb the continuous migration at there respective borders. Also, the smugglers need to be dealt with to stop the enticement.

Sad sooooo sad !!! RIP to the many who have died in this worthless self-exodus and mad migration.May God help the others in slavery, detentions, rape or torture overcome the situation.

I don tire for this migrant matter....undecided undecided[/quote
On point my person.

Hypocrite! That didn't start in Buhari's admin, and it won't end in it. Stop politicising everything. Tell your sub Saharan Africans to remain at home or be ready to face whatever they face, taking that illegal route to Europe. Some of those that survive beyond Libya face worst.

Not this again, so becuase there will always be bad people we should ignore them right? There will always be bad people, yes. The correct response is not to tell the victims it's your fault and move ahead with our lives without trying to find a way to solve the problem. the correct response is to try and fix the problem. To find a way to stop their activities, in this case stopping the slave trade and the torture.
The whole point is that slave trade and torture is wrong and should be condemned and stopped. Send them back if they enter your country illegally, That's all.
Not that they are right to enter the country illegally. That's not in contention.

lols, you are obviously a child. It's just like telling a thief not to steal your property when he breaks into your home and that he should return if stolen. These are criminals you are talking. They don't have conscience. We can condemn all we want, the only way to stop this is by telling potential victims to migrate legally. The UN will not p police at the libyan borders to stop trade. Neither will the Libyan authorities put officials beyond their borders. You don't understand what's going on yet, when you do, you will see things differently.

I don't understand people who reason like this.

You think everyone is not fed up with this country? Those of us who are very sane are praying for money to afford a plane ticket and other things necessary for a legal emigration. You can't do that and be treated like these persons who are after shortcuts.

I can't pity someone who played with fire and got burnt after so much warnings.
Look, today they treat those you call insane but very soon if they are allowed to continue to view blacks as non entities, even the sane ones that entered legally would be at risk of being hunted down and treated like scum. So yeah, better to quench the fire burning at your neighbours house because very soon it would spread and burn yours if left to continue.

I understand that you are really passionate about this matter, the slave traders and all the wrong doings are bad and I condemn them and thunder really will strike them but look at it from this point of view.

A giant wall is erected to protect people from wild animals say lions, but the thing is behind this enclosure lies an oasis a paradise.

but the thing is people are already comfortable as they are with no animals disturbing them inside their sanctuary, amma some carve the paradise and will do anything to reach it so they start climbing the walls hoping that the lions will not notice them and they will make it all the way to the paradise.

this ideology may look heartless but really that's what happening in this illegal immigration of a thing.

you know that there is danger where you are going and still insist on going ,does that not sound a little off to you.

What you typed was pure poppycock.

The slave trade is another matter entirely. Consult your history books and you'd see why it's still considered heinous. The whites came to our continent with one purpose alone. To make slaves of us.

You can't compare such monstrosity to people leaving their countries without due permits and taken as slaves in a country where they don't have the correct papers to stay.

Why would any Nigerian leave Nigeria for another African country? Isn't that insanity of the highest order?

If you can't make it to Europe or the Americas legitimately, then stay in your house.

Majority of Sub-Saharan Africans in Libya are Nigerians.

What can young Nigerians do to survive in their country?

The old Nigerian politicians say they can't give up politics as profession. They recycle themselves and their families to keep their one Nigeria honey flowing.

Slavery is never right today it is them the ones you say deserve what they got, but very soon these people would get used 5o having blacks as slaves and then even you the legal one would have no value in their eyes.
