Congratulations @ SallyAus. What a testimony. Thank God it is ending in praise. @Area7, Kindly check the requirement for the occupation you are applying for. If my memory serves me right, I believe you need a minimum of 1 year work of experience to start with for accountant. Assessment is not so much a big deal once your syllabus covers all the required competencies ( with or without ICAN). However, the tier of your school will play a major role in what it is assessed as (associate or bachelor). The main issue remains your plan towards getting enough points to meet up with the qualifying point for invitation. So think of this and make your decision if you want to proceed. 1 Like |

From the vetassess website, it will take 10-12weeks for the assessment result to be out except where one wants to do priority processing. For people that have done the assessment does it really take that long? |

praiseisgood: Thank you very much @praiseisgood. I have more than 3 years work experience and my university is classified as tier 2. The syllabus covered the required courses for Accountant (General) and Management Accountant which I am considering either of the 2. If my assessment comes out as Associate Degree, does that translate to a positive assessment and can I still enter the pool with associate degree? I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you |

I studied political science but has worked as an administrative officer for 10years in a government establishment and I want to apply as a human resource manager and a qualification is not needed and I also don't see my political science as a good option for my job. Can I still go ahead and apply without my certificate and just put in my appointment letter and payslips? |

The point required for invitation has never been fixed at 60. 60 points only relate to EOI. To submit EOI, you need a minimum of 60 skilled points. However, after submitting your EOI, depending on how competitive your occupation is, you may be invited with just 60 points or as high as 75 points. I've read about 80+ points and sometimes I wonder how that's possible. But yeah, Indians... I wonder when DIBP would favour Nigerians by adding Pidgin and other indigenous Nigerian languages to the list for 5 extra points as with Mandarin, Hindi, etc. To be clear DIBP didn't increase the point to 70; you can still be invited with 60 points, just a matter of when (time). It's the system which is completely controlled by candidates in the pool that dictates the cut-off. All DIBP does is to allocate maximum invitations per round and I don't think that has changed much. However, as more candidates submit EOI with higher points; the system can only invite the first set of EOI's with the highest points in the pool. Those not invited after a round, panic and look for other means of increasing their points. When they do, they go up the list and probably get invited. Another candidate does the same and the cycle continues. If everyone submits EOI with 60 points, then invitations would be made at 60 points too. But who get chill? Everyone wanna get ITA tomorrow. So, nay leaving any stone unturned; tick every point possible. pdlibra: 5 Likes |

area74: @PRAISEISGOOD, OKDEE AND OTHER ACCOUNTANTS IN THE HOUSE. I refer to the quoted and the response of @praiseisgood to my earlier question. Kindly respond to the quoted questions? I hope to enter the pool as soon as I can. By my estimation, if I am able to ace the maximum points in english with the Associate Degree, I will have at least 65 points. Kindly guide me.
