Crossovers are winning the hearts of auto buyers as many of them now prefer the former to sedans. This new situation is threatening several automakers, like Audi, BMW, and Mercedes, since it almost renders their new sedans unmarketable.

The earlier mentioned automakers are especially affected since they rely more on automobile leasing than any of the other mainstream automakers. The companies are on the verge of facing inventory problems at the expiration of the lease, culminating in the return of the affected automobiles.

Last month, auto demand fell for sedans, like Lexus GS, Audi A4, and Mercedes S-Class, while it soared for automobiles, like Lexus GX, Mercedes GLE, and Audi Q5. Three years ago, only 42% sales were recorded for crossovers, compared to the 56% sales recorded this year.

In Nigeria, our bad roads alone are enough for you to ditch the sedans for crossovers and SUVs.

You can't move your deep freezer with a sedan, with an SUV, simply fold down your rear seats.

Please OP U shld b specific with ppl who in dis case are Oyibo ppl... Wen I saw "lease " I gave up on d report. Dis story no concern us jor. To an average Nigerian their are d saloon cars and d Jeeps(SUVs).. D only crossover we know is crossover nite at d end of d year

This reminds me of owning a Truck, A Toyota Tundra or Ford - 150. I won't keep calm till I get any of those.

The results will be different for everyone. For me I live primarily in Abuja central and work all over the country so its sedan for pleasure and SUV's or pickups for work. I do a lot of road travel and have learnt over time the unpredictability of Nigerian roads. A road may be sedan compliant at a given time and three months later you will be awestruck as to how badly it has deteriorated. But for pleasure nothing matches the Saturday morning ride of a sedan on Abuja roads and if you've got a drop top, that's heaven. But crossovers in their purest form are a no, no for me. I simply don't understand them.or particularly like them.

SUV all the way. Who wants to be scrapping his fender when negotiating on a culvert? Sedans are for roads you are familiar with, you know where the bumps and potholes are.
FX 35 is one of the very few cars, if not the only car, that gives u ground clearance for bad roads and balance for highway speed. But the trunk is small compared to other SUVs. So you can't get that one complete package.
