Hi folks , I recently built an android app to help folks check import duty of cars
It has over 5000 cars
Its very easy to use.
Takes few seconds to fetch the cost
The data was compiled by Autojosh , The number 1 car blog in Nigeria wink

The import duty price generated by this android app for many of those cars when compared to the quotes received by clearing agents is outrageous. How does this app generate its price?

Thanks for the feedback sir, I asked Autojosh why its so :



The compromised duty which is the reduction you get at the discretion of the custom officials has been factored into the 2002 - 2009 cars. However, the 2010 and above cars only show the standard (normal) import duties as we are currently working on updating their compromised figures too.

We’ll include a footer that would explain that 2010 and above cars would get a percentage reduction pending the update.

Also note that some people do short payment which would even reduce the import duty further. Note: Nigeria Customs will not seize your car if you pay the compromised duty but your car would be long gone if you short pay.
