Please help me find out the rationale behind the Kaduna State Government via its Water Board charging House owners who sank their own private boreholes to pay the sum of NGN 10,000 monthly as Royalty?!

Why will any sane government issue out such a law if after failing to provide same to its citizens and on their own efforts they went out of their way, pay through the nose to have water in their homes only for the government to come up with such ridiculous royalty?!

Or are they indirectly discouraging individuals from sinking their own boreholes even when the government can not provide enough portable water?!

Someone should please ask them why.

I have just 2 points to make. (1)thank God I don't live in kaduna. I live in lagos. (2) thank God I no get borehole for compound. Na well we dey use.

Borehole for commercial purpose only or all boreholes?

Monthly water bill for a borehole you drilled with your own money is daylight robbery.... A whole 10k sef, your government is evil

I think it is the right move, this sachet water companies are making money with it, so it shouldn't hot them much, in my opinion this charge is a bit conservative, it should be higher for businesses and very low for private owners.
