The permanent secretary in the interior ministry, Engineer Abubakar Magaji, is reported to have claimed responsibility for the reinstatement and promotion of Abdulrasheed Maina, former chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pension Reform (PTFPR).
Magaji reportedly made the confession after members of the ad hoc committee investigating the circumstances surrounding Maina’s disappearance, reappearance, reinstatement and promotion, presented some documents before him.
Daily Independent reports that Magaji was questioned based on the evidence before the lawmakers.
The report said after earlier indicting the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HoSF), Winifred Oyo-Ita, Magaji later made a U-turn and claimed he was responsible for the letter directing Maina’s reinstatement. It was learnt that before he finally owned up, Oyo-Ita had expressed surprise at the submission by the Magaji.
She wondered why a senior permanent secretary in the civil service could be economical with the truth.
She insisted that her office never sent a letter directing him to reinstate Maina. http://zedchat.wapgem.com earlier reported that Nigeria's finance minister, Kemi Adeosun , said that the embattled former boss of Presidential Task Force on Pension Reform Team, Abdulrasheed Maina, last received salary as a civil servant in February 2013.
The report quoted Daily Post as stating that Adeosun testified before a House of Representatives panel investigating Maina's reinstatement. She told the members that Maina’s name was not in the federal government’s pay roll.

Someone has finally been compelled to take the whole blame and shield all the Ogas from embarrassment. I can't imagine how Mamman Daura and Abba kyari would have threatened him if he doesn't agree to take the blame. Just angry with governance in this country
