That's where the issue is, without my knowledge, my dad already told his friend to put me in Delta....reason being (according to what my mum said), he does not want me to join bokoharam should I be posted to the north, since I've suddenly become an "extremist" in the religion, so he doesn't want me to go worse....

and what is that supposed to mean? most of we muslim men are the reasons why Islam is tagged the anti-women religion,you could correct her without insinuating anything whatsoever...back to the issues of the yoruba culture being shirk,I'd agree if you'd lowered the rate to lets say 60%...on the issue of prostrating and kneeling,I've heard it countless times,but prostrating and kneeling in yoruba was based on the essence of showing due respect to our elders,not as a form of worshipping them (the only people I prostrate to are my parents by the way)...personally I think shirk has to do with what your intentions are with your actions...no one is perfect,only Allah is,may he lead us to the right choices...on the issue of name calling,I'll love being called my name,or a sweet name of my partner's choice

SUBHANALLAH!!! Why would u say that!!! Pls people should stop this!!! I served in Delta and I loved it there! And yes, I am a Muslim! I met a lot of Muslims and Asaba Igbos who even converted to Islam. You can be anywhere and be who you want to be and probably the best Muslim, masha Allah.
Do you want to tell me that there is a place in Nigeria that there is no fitnah? Ask me dear, I have lived in different part of the north and for over 20years! There are always the good and the bad. You just make your choice and live by it.
