big phone big problems... good thing i didnt buy this S8

If its after a software update then its a software issue that can be easily fixed by another software update. This kind of things happene often with iPhones with different issue popping up after every update. Not a big deal especially for people that use iPhones.

I don't think so. Software patches are not a major upgrade, it's not like they are moving from one version of android to another. It's just a patch.
