it's a simple logic....2013 NLNG did recruitment for both trainee operator and graduate trainee....whearas this year they made recruitment plans for only Trainee Operator....i hope they r banking on 2013 waitlisted graduate trainees...it won't cost u anything to pray and hope...

What's next? No one even actually knows what's up. No one has been able to tell us with certainty what the actual number of people waitlisted is. We know that about 70 or 83 people, depending on who u ask, have resumed. But how many are left?
To know what's next u will have to start from there.

I was among the waitlisted candidates. I just received an email from NLNG.

============================================================================
Dear *******,
With reference to your participation at the NLNG Graduate Trainee Assessment Centre Exercise and our earlier notification that you were waitlisted within the validity period of your interview result, we would like to inform you that the validity period of your interview result has elapsed from 20th November 2017.

Consequently, the NLNG GT Recruitment Exercise is now considered closed and your participation in this exercises is deemed closed as well.

We would like to thank you for your interest in our company and wish you the best in your endeavours.

Sincerely,
NLNG Recruitment Team.

============================================================================

This email is just wind blowing leaves over a grave that I have already covered & cemented. Since early 2016 (when I realised buhari was killing Nigeria), I had decided to focus on my current job and forget returning to Nigeria. IF NLNG had offered me the GT role, I would have turned it down as I don't believe the company or Nigeria are improving anytime soon.

My condolences to all other waitlisted candidates who have been praying and hoping to be called.

Cheers, pals. All the best. smiley

I dreaded this day all this while. But the funny thing is that when I saw the mail, I felt relief. Things could have gone better. But I realise that things are not so bad either. Makes u appreciate your life even more.

Life is always a win-win situation for God's children because all things work together for their good.

My not resuming as your staff is to your loss and not mine.

The Nigerian Liquefied natural gas NLNG 2013 graduate trainee recruitment. A very funny story/advice to the management of the company.

This Journey started mid 2013 when people were quietly in their houses eating popcorn and drinking zobo. This company came by themselves, they said they needed graduate trainees bla bla bla. Ok, against fear of tribalism, nepotism, federal character, quota system etc, some people summoned the courage to apply, with the typical Nigerian mind-set that this is Nigeria and you cannot get into a big company like the NLNG without connection.

Against all odds, in 2014 the company held its first test/stage conducted by WAEC which held in various locations nationwide. Many gave up because they didn't have connection that could pull the strings for them and the from d was astonishing. 100s of thousands if I am correct. Still baffles me how they were able to conduct it very well. Kudos to WAEC.
Surprisingly, NLNG sent out mails and many people passed. The joy was overwhelming with many assuming that they had already gotten the job that year 2014.

Months later, a mail came in that there would be another round of tests to be conducted by the respected SHL. The previously successful ones started shivering at the thought of another test. With courage, they went for the test, strict screening exercise, documentation and a very sweet shl test which required d speed, accuracy and a bit of luck.

Few months passed by and voila, another mail,.. Yeeeeeey!!! they screamed, it was a success mail for a few hundreds. The believe in a system that works started creeping into their minds. 'We knew nobody, no connection and we've made it this far, this company must be the best out there.' Some must have said. Then came the ultimate waiting period with one excuse or the other. Ebola, elections etc.

When many must have thought the recruitment would be cancelled like the NNPC recruitment and back door entrance would start, NLNG sent a mail that assessment would hold in Q1 2015. 2 years already gone by. Later another mail changing the assessment time to a later date due to the general elections to be conducted by NLNG, sorry INEC.

Mid 2015, NLNG conducted the most organized Assessment center I have ever heard about. Well structured with extremely smart and young assessors. Group work, fact finding, CBI, Presentation, breakfast and lunch etc. The assessors said results should be out in 30days or there about. This didn't happen for over 200 days.

On June the 6th 2016, NLNG sent its results to a few who were ‘satisfactory' and would proceed to medicals. Some said they also sent regret to a few who didn't make it. While the rest were left on mars. The hurt and sadness and emotional trauma on this day was legendary. I know a 29yr old man who physically shed tears that day because he didn't get any feedback, no regret, no success.

3 days later, NLNG sent its supposed last batch of RPGs,.. Boooom!!! regret mail to the rest and ‘satisfactory’ mail to a little over 70 persons but that they would be waitlisted pending when NLNG would be taking more hands. This has been the norm for years and NLNG always calls its waitlisted after a while.

So the real wait began. First, the about 80 guys who were supposed to proceed for medicals and resumption didn't do that from June 2016 until mid 2017, which means they had to wait ONE YEAR and FOUR/FIVE MONTHS before RESUMPTION in September/October 2017.

A little about 10-15 persons were added from the waitlisted to the first set to make up about just about 80 persons who resumed from the first ‘satisfactory’, leaving about 60-70 persons on waiting list.

Just one month after these guys had resumed, NLNG sent regret mails to the 60-70 persons left that they had initially sent satisfactory but waitlisted mail in June 2016. In the most unfair manner ever recorded in recruitments in Nigeria. I even heard most had to find out first on twitter that NLNG has closed the recruitment and engaged all successful graduate trainees even before any official mail was sent 3or4 days later. Wawu!. NLNG, did they apply via twitter? Kontinu!!! God is *washing you!

So now to the question, is NLNG now saying its waiting or validity period is just 1 month because the to first ‘satisfatory’ guys resumed in September/October 2017 and NLNG sent regret/closure mails to the ‘satisfactory waitlisted’ in November 2017. Isn't this just not right?. How come they would be counting waiting period from June 2016 when the people who were never waitlisted resumed in september/October 2017?

If you cannot absorb them now, why didn't you just keep communication open promising more correspondence later when things become clearer.

Just ONE damned Month on waiting list then regret mail! Walahi, I have never seen this kind of thing before oh, you people are human beings oh, you have a heart, how can you do this to your fellow Nigerians?

Ordinary graduate trainee recruitment, 2013 -2017 and all they could take was approximately 80 persons out of 100s of thousands that started the race. A whole NLNG? Wonder why we are where we are as a country.!

You people at NLNG that sent that harsh heart breaking, family wrecking, generation killing, life shattering closure email on Monday better revisit your decision and call the ‘satisfactory waitlisted' candidates to resume work or be patient for train 7 or other expansion projects oh. Because if you don’t- candidates, old grandmothers, fathers, sick parents who have been better expecting their life to change through their kids that were adjourned satisfactory and advised to wait on you. They would start going to the village to put generational curse on all of you and trust me, no pastor or imam in heaven or on earth would he able to break the curse. Even God cannot be happy with such rash decision and inhumane treatment.
Please please please please you can’t be this wicked! Not our NLNG!
Just 60 more making approximately 140 graduate trainees in over 10 years. That’s even low for a company like NLNG which has subsidiaries like NSML and BGT.
Apart from the new intakes, If as an old NLNG staff, you see this and you don’t try to relay this message across to the decision makers, then the above curse will fall on you more than the one Davido did.

Han Han, you people cannot be doing Nigerians like this na. I’m sure even Shell, total and Eni arnt even against taking more hands. It is our own major 49% share holder NNPC that I suspect would be killing the dreams of these Successful waitlisted Nigerians.

Cool
Until NLNG sends a regret mail, all candidates on the waitlist should be patient, hopeful and prayerful.

There is a reason why company didn't send you regret mail. Be hopeful!.

I believe if business kicks up, challenges like act amendment ET Al are squashed, and the figures look good, there would be reasons to call for more hands.

In as much as you are all hopeful and waiting, do try other routes to the top.

IT IS WELL!!!

Jesus, see the way i trusted and believed in NLNG.

They better do what is right, cos this won't go down easy, some people would escalate and it might cause them more. You never can tell what it might lead to for the company and especially for the decision makers. Never underestimate the power of social media. Weve done it with multinationals in the past and their decision was reversed in less than a month. NLNG shouldn't wait for public rubbishing before it does what is right. A bad name is hard to change.

If you like build a bridge from Bonny to bodo and another from Bonny to China, if this goes public, a few of you would definitely lose their jobs and it would take NLNG over 20 years to repair the damage. It would also expose alot.

Who told you NLNG is the best?
Obviously you expected so much from them, and they just played out who they are - just another Nigerian company!

Keeping you on wait list for four years is a red flag.
You applied in 2013 as a graduate trainee
Called in 2017 to resume as a graduate trainee
If a company like NIGER foods gives you this treatment would you consider to accept the offer four years after?

My brother na the money were nlng go pay dey enter your head NOT the job itself.

Good news is that more money you shall get from other of your endeavors if only u can see the bigger picture

You are better off
Keep praying
Keep working
Stay healthy and happy
