You have already declared the world war 11. Liberating the Jews is a task the we must achieve. I remember a lot of people that abandoned their freelanders when they changed the engine to toyota. Even muranos have been sold to demolition teams after changing the engine to toyota. From all I know, that is the last bus stop for that car. It is the same thing with those that changed their air suspension to springs. That also is a sure way to say goodbye to your Range. i was in Ladipo one day when a guy wanted to sell his Rr vogue for 500k. Air springs, engine sounding strange but stilk moving. He was offered 250k and he refused. That is now the lot of many owners who allowed these mecs to ruin the supercars.

Hmmm. I was the one that was ready to pay that price. The guys in Ladipo wanted to buy the battery and one said the paint is the only good thing on the car and he was asking for the price of the paint. Maintenance is the key or else why should someone change the air suspension to springs?

Good morning guys please I have 2 range rovers sports 2006 and 2007, the 2006 petrol I bought and used for over a year then the engine got bad, so I bought a diesel one bcuz the petrol engine was expensive and also consumed a lot bcuz so I later on bought a diesel 2007 which got bad with 6months apparently the guy who sold me the diesel had repaired the engine before and I didn't know. So I wanna repair both cars and sell one but I wanna replace the original engines with either a Bmw m57(diesel) and for the petrol range I was thinking of using a jaguar s-type v6 or some kind of Toyota v6 or v8, please suggest any better engine other than the ones I have stated which could be better for the swap, I still want the automatic transmissions.

Becareful bro..
most of the conversion are wacky!!!
I once saw a BMW engine in RR VOUGUE 2005...
the owner claimed that the conversion was done at ladipo., and since then the vehicle as been wonderful and more reliable than the initial factory Engine, but encounter serious issue with AC compressor
My advice, sell it as is it. And get another
Shalom

That is the sad story we encounter in the line of work. Bmw and Range Vogue Engine is not more than 300 k difference but to save cost, they buy the Bmw Engine that has been ravaged by poor fuel and unsuitable Engine oils. Maintenance is the key and when it is ignored, the cost to restore is exhorbitant.

Engine swaps are done within a limit.....

Not Toyota engine in a Range Rover Sport.

See most of u guys laughing at me but I'm a connoisseur I just wanted to see if there were any reasonable ideas here. RR vogue and BMW x5,use the same engine and transmissions until the sport came and the vogue and sport used the same nobody will ever tell u the vogue from 2002-2005 used x5 engine so that u know the engine is expensive, I'm from Cameroon and range rovers are not that common and if u see one which is bad is the same way like seeing a Ferrari drive past in Lagos and u are like how come...

Rrs petrol engine was developed from the jaguar s-type engine and the diesel rrs share the same engine with Peugeot 607 n 407 just that the sump of the rrs is deeper

At bolded....

No one has argued about the fact that engines are shared across platforms.

However, it is laughable to consider fabricating and force fitting a Toyota engine into a Land Rover so as to save cost.

The reason(s) for your cars to have suffered this much damage within a short period of time is the opposite of the bolded. I have clients running these cars seamlessly for over 5years. Proper maintenance and No corners cut.

Like you stated, these cars share the same engines but the sump is different. When you put a Bmw Engine on a Rr vogue, the modifications that will be made is too much wahala and mind you, the Bmw engines are not in top shape. A 2005 RR engine in the us is a little bit expensive than the sport Engine . So the one here sold for 700k is not in good shape. The bottom line is following the manufacturer’s specifications. Then you will enjoy the car.

you mean the bmw engine cost 700K

I think it uses the same engine with E39?
pls clarify my assumption!

Range Rover sallmama engines cost 700-800k while the Bnw x5 engunes are in the range of 400-550k. But in the USA, a good RR engine cost 3500usd higher than a sport engine of 3400 usd

We do in most cases but getting the crankshaft is a serious issue. One of my clients went to the UK and we mandated him to look for crankshafts in a demolition site but could not get one. The low octane fuel and the wrong engine oils are the major issues affecting a range rover engine and we counsel everyone to boost the fuel and use the recommended engine oil for your peace of mind. A new crankshaft cost 1600usd while the used engine cost 3400usd. So rebuilding the engine is possible only if the crankshaft is in order.

Billionaires ke, fixing a range rover engine is not more than 700k, that is for the 06-09 models, and the engine at ladipo is 1,3m range, so e nor reach millions

I thought the crankshaft has a low failure rate? I am thinking rings, camshafts, valves, piston, rods etc.

But the numbers will add up, since they are always abused, and fail accordingly. If you warranty your rebuild, people (even dealership) will keep you busy.

[quote author=Kashif post=62877697]

That is the main problem. Already with low octane fuel and poor quality engine oils, the failure rate is high. And when adjusted to standard, that power is reduced and you won’t have the confidence in that car again. The gearbox goes in the range of 350-400k

Another problem with Engine parts is this. There are more Diesel Range rovers than Petrol.Diesel Engine parts is cheaper cos thats all waht is seen in Europe.Petrol Engines in Europe are nearly non existent.

That is true. I was going through leboncoin in France online and only 20% were petrol engines. Europeans are not keen Range Rover owners. Just drive and park. Here we go anywhere with it

So the only viable option is to buy new parts. That will even boost your warranty confidence. Do that and tell the customer the warranty is voided if service appointments are missed!
