I want to ask this question that has been beguiling me for a long time now?

What does bible believing church means? Ain't it suppose to be Jesus or God believing church? Why the emphasis on bible as if the bible saves? The Maharashtra, Mahayana, Mayan, Maharajas etc of this world reads the bible and can give Christians a run for their money in an argument.
Why emphasising on the bible instead of Jesus Christ?

Not all churches believe the Bible they try to manipulate it (don't want to call names) Jesus told us in Matthew 4:4 "Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God" yes the Bible saves

A bible believing church, is a Church that takes the whole bible as the word of God, both old and new testament. Everything in there.

Instead of those that chose to focus on only the new testament. It is a Church that focuses on the God of Old, not those that subscribe to the idea that God has changed.

When he was alive there is nothing like the bible instead it is Torah, the Jewish scripture. Jesus never saw the bible as we know it today cos it was compiled years after his death. So how come the emphasis on bible believing churches by modern Christians since Jesus Christ we follow didnt subscribe to a "bible" when he was alive. Why that division as if the bible on it's own saves?

I don't really understand this question, but really how would you have even know Jesus without the Bible... So yes we must belive in the Bible because it is the very word of God... And guess who is the word of God?

... Well Jesus did subscribe a lot to the scriptures while he was alive, most of his statements, teachings or answers to question, notably his answers when he was being tempted by Satan started with "it is written".... So... He did.
The Bible is God's means of talking to us today, so how do we believe in God without believing his words?

I am not talking about the word of God rather about the book itself called the bible? The word of God is also found in the Torah too which is where Jesus quotes often.

The question is why do modern Christians emphasises more on bible believing rather than believing in Jesus himself ?. This has translated to the catch-phrase of bible believing church instead of putting emphasis on Jesus and his salvation teachings.
Are we deviating from that teachings of making heaven by focusing on Jesus instead of bible thumping.
Is it not supposed to be Jesus believing church?
