You are a jobless, irritating and disgusting psycho! The time and energy you devote in creating tens of monikers, logging in and out just to like your posts and all the rubbish you keep spewing all over the place from Enugu thread, Imo thread and throwing senseless slurs against Igbo states shows you are a self hating, low life psycho with suicidal tendencies! Everyone knows you are sick and in need of urgent help!!

What ever happens to Owerri, is for all. Same way Uyo is has most of the concentrated development of Akwa ibom state, yet ask any Akwa Ibomite you see, the first place of pride for them is Uyo irrespective of their towns or villages in the state.

I don't see anything wrong in the urban renewal in Owerri. My problem is that most of the works are substandard, poorly executed and still look third worldish. our drainages are still open and shallow, no side walks and where they exist are narrow. No trees planted, even the roads are not wide enough, electric lines and poles are not underground. street and tracffic lights are also inadequate.

Our leaders don't think of the future...they fail to realize that there will be pressure on the roads and other infrastructures, as population grow, and with small land our cities should have minimum of 3lane roads to avoid Lagos experience of gridlock in future in addition to trains, underground tunnels, flyovers and high rise buildings..

Again, it shouldnt stop distribution of development into other towns within the state...at least access roads, health care wards and schools should be basic.

I agree with you except on the substandard part. Don't believe what you read but focus on what you see. All the roads presently under construction are with pedestrian walkways and covered drainage. I think that's why Owerri is wearing a kind of "unNigerian" looks now especially Bank road. I seem to support Okorocha blindly because I noticed him to be intelligent and ambitious well above the average Nigerian. He does things the way I could have done if given the opportunity.

I hope your optimism becomes true. Our people perpetually feel somewhat inferior to use their own facilities. AIIA,Enugu is a living example. They will still prefer to land in Lagos and then embark on a needless harrowing road trip to the East, and complaining about state of the roads, Police harassment & extortion, broken down vehicles, etc every minute of the way. grin grin

SMICA runway which is 2.7KM should be extended by 300 meters to reach at least 3KM for large body airplanes to land safely. If this extension isn't done, no serious International airline will risk landing their jumbo jets on a runway less than 3KM.

SMICA runway extension work should take place ONLY AT NIGHT, so that the airport does not need to be closed for an endless runway extension work. Combined flights with AIIA,Enugu through Turkish airline or Air France will be viable.

Nah bro. The reason is that Lagos has the cheapest flights.

No we are not in any way close to being same. My clear theme is quest for Igbo Presidency with Okorocha in mind but his is quest to run down any Igbo State that isn't Anambra.

Your photo of Owerri sidewalk is not of the new roads. However the sidewalk you showed is large and quite old as the trees are grown but truth be told there is nowhere in the world including Dubai and London that all their sidewalks are like that. In Owerri the one built by Okorocha at Heroes park is close.

Okoroawusa presidency cheesy

It will be easy for Togolese to win presidential election in Nigeria than the failed incompetent bastard Okoroawusa win even any state in the SE.

That is just a part of new owerri and doesnt cover even 0.5% of new Owerri..

Now compare the quality to the sidewalk in Obafemi Awolowo University, built over 50yrs ago with trees and still standing despite its daily traffic and it is like that in everywhere within the academic area and staff residential quaters

That of the area in new Owerri you posted hardly have people walk on it and will not last a year or two with daily traffic on it

That is not exactly true. It depends on your travel date.

In any case, even if you land in Lagos or Abuja, how will you get to the East free of charge? Through rollers skating?

Most of the time you still pay heavily pay more to fly the local airlines to Owerri, Asaba or Enugu and they could cancel their flights at no notice. Not to mention the discomfort of road trip.

People fail to understand the meaning of sacrifice now for a better future. The reason Lagos is cheaper is because it has far more passengers but if we grow Enugu by using it even at the higher cost, it will be to our future benefit.

Some people are deliberately setting fires on Hotels in Owerri. Perhaps to drive out their competitors or something.

I hope Hotel owners are very alert about activities on their property and watch where visitors cars park. These people are using all sorts of means to set fires.
