lionel4power:Stop trying to mislead people guy.The military was aware of this but they also needed the same opportunity in chad. You need to check how many times Nigeria Airforce bombed boko haram in chad too. This was done shortly after the MNJTF agreement was signed. The chadian soldiers were even in Nigeria at some point claiming to have done what they never did before Nigerian government asked them to leave. Is just like saying cameroonian army launched attack against boko haram along Nigeria-Cameroon border. |

tdayof:At a live interview on CHANNELS TV this evening, in response to a question on the Chadian incursion into the Nigerian airspace to bomb positions and whether the Nigerian government or the military high command were informed beforehand, Nigeria’s Director of Defence Information, Major Gen. Chris Olukolade (photo ) said he could not deny or confirm the Chadian air raid on Nigerian territory. http://googleweblight.com/i?u=http://www.nigerreporters.com/chad-air-force-jets-bomb-targets-in-nigeria/&grqid=7IdiAguE&hl=en-NG different sides to the same story. let's believe the one we choose. |

SSBN:I brought up Vietnam because of your "F7 can't fight" story. Anyway the F7 is not match for Mig29 1 on 1 Its been 12 years of insurgency not war. Buying modern aircraft can never be for an insurgency We are trying to buy combat aircraft from the west and not jets- its irritating by the way but unfortunately the east hasn't caught up in that aspect. your comment about the mushak is pure sentiments. So we should not buy trainers because an air force is only about Fighter jets?. And if what you ordered for isn't ready on the spot we should decline an offer to use theirs (borrow in your words) because we have ego to protect? Such revelation, please enlighten me on the prototypes of albatross we made. |

iblawi:You sound like those "tactical manoeuvre" crew. The French have increased military bases in Chad and Niger. The Americans have activated Reaper Drone bases in Niger and Cameroon. Now foreign hostile aircrafts are conducting on authorised airstrikes on Nigerian soil AGAIN. Yet you allow patriotic sentiment cloud your sense if judgement. What will it take for you to believe that Nigeria has been beseiged? A nuclear strike in Abuja? |

Odunayaw:Yes. We should not buy trainers because we have too many of them. Its just we have converted our trainers to combat aircrafts. Which is beyond ridiculous. Do you realise from 2014 to 2016 Nigeria's annual defence budget has been close to $6 billion? Where is the money going? This is not ego my friend? Countries not at war are modernising at a faster pace. From 2002 its been nearly 20 years of continuous fighting yet its taking us half a century to replace the junk we rely on to protect our territorial sovereignty? Jeeez |

lionel4power:Do you expect the military to tell the public they allowed chadian planes to bomb terrrorist in the country. Military men are not politicians that need to convince the public about every issue, their task is to get the job done. Tell us how many time the NAF have bombed boko haram in chad and compare that to the number of times chadians have bombed boko haram in Nigeria. sometimes you just have to let something happen in order to have your way. |

SSBN:Guy you are confused. A single US/French aircraft carrier in the Gulf of guinea is more of a treat than having a armed drone base in Niger, Mali, Camerron and Chad put together. i wonder why some people worry over irrelevant things. |

| Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Nobody: 5:57pm On Dec 12, 2017 |
Odunayaw:The NAF strike fleet today consists of between 9 to 16 Alpha jets and a handful L-39"s. They were initially acquired to train pilots. Yes there is no harm in weaponizing them and all, but to rely on jet trainers as the workhorse of the NAF strike asset? For two decades? Cmon. Even thw F-7 were a stopgap measure. You cannot possibly justify why Africa"s largest economy will rely jet trainers as combat planes. We are 3rd or 4th defence spenders on the continent. You base your assessment or requirements on the Boko Haram insurgency. Should the say arise where we are forced to defend against an external foe invading our territory, we will be handsomely embarrassed. Nigeria has no excuse, we should be in per with Egypt or Algeria. Its not ego, its where we should be. Can yoi count the number of times Cameroonian troops stormed Nigerian villages, killed dozens of civilians and burnt down whole villages? They got away with it because they know our capabiities. These people are not naive. We are a continental powerhouse with huge responsibilities. If Nigeria burns ECOWAS is finnished....and you know it is the desire of the powers that be for that to happen. |

Algerian1:Thank you please preach. People dont even realise the gravity of having the French and Americans out mussle us militarily. Many think modernising our armed forces is an ego trip. Imagine a suprise pre-emptive attack on Nigeria like the Israelis carried out against Egypt. |
| Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by iblawi(m): 6:05pm On Dec 12, 2017 |
SSBN:Good to know Cameroon will burn down Nigeria and ECOWAS will be no more. Am just wondering why you are unnecessarily shooting thing out of proportion. war is more complex than having mig 29 vs F7 fight. |

SSBN:What turned into this clusterfuk was that trite comment of how NAF couldn't defend against a mig 29 It was all educative until excreta was thrown in the mix now my question.. can we militarily out muscle France or Murica |
