Itu Light in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, is basically 23 and a half hours every day, except if something is wrong with the transmission. Light hardly goes off for more than 30mins in a day. Ask anybody and confirm! |

The conclusion one might reach from the testimonies here is that power supply has actually improved. This by no means is concluding that we have solved our power problems. To be reading such positive testimonies is encouraging and we can only plead with the government as well as the electricity companies to do even more. Kudos to all concerned. |

Omooba77:No one said it was perfect. Many respondents gave positive testimonies. Your area might just be amongst the few not presently enjoying largely uninterrupted power supply. By the way, whereabouts are you? |

fratermathy:This is true. A friend of mine who stays in Itu Road keeps bragging about this all the time. Says he has to put off his fridge most times because of "too much" light. One can only wish that more citizens get to enjoy this. --- As for my area, I would say around 12-15 hours per day. One is almost guaranteed of sleeping with light everyday. This is a really marked improvement compared to 2 years ago. |

If light (power) has been so good as many are claiming, why are artisans still depending mostly on generators to work |

SalamRushdie:Please quit this baseless "fact" about supply being bad that you keep touting. DISCO are independent business entities looking to improve their profit margins by being more efficient. To achieve this, they direct their power supplied by TCN to areas where they can collect the money for the energy delivered. Despite not yet being uhuru, significant progress has been made in how electricity is supplied. These DISCOs now work with parameters like ATC&C (please look up this terminology before responding to my comment). Areas served by feeders with high ATC&C get reduced power allocation, those with low ATC&C get better allocation or as its known to the layman - stable supply. |
