Banjo and Ifeajuna were accused of trying to topple Ojukwu. They were arrested, tried and found guilty of treason. Their trial was well covered in Ben Odogwus book "No Place to Hide: Crises and Conflicts Inside Biafra"

In this book, the full transcript of the trial was mentioned. Banjo was even allowed to personally question witnesses. Banjo and Ifeajuna were executed for coup plotting and not because Ojukwu personally had anything against them

sorry but the truth is bitter, you have a phobia for the truth and the truth might kip beatin ur imagination for a longer time than u thought. Yes barely three months into a war that was justifiable, someone was seeking an asylum for ceasefire a soldier for that matter without carrying his master along? why didnt he drop into a civilian status if he wanted to run a solo peace talk? mind you because there were no enough evidences doesnt mean he was innocent. How can they carry the master along when they were in the war front? They saw and knew that the Biafran soldiers could not stand the might of the Nigerian army and proceeded to negotiate the ceasefire to prevent a strike. A strike which was going to happen due to a time line.

Even before the bullets struck their chest, their words were complete the ceasefire negotiation. Is that not carrying along. They were more concerned with saving Igbo lives but Ojukwu was more concerned of saving his ego.

That is the bitter truth.
