Please where is Ikoyi/Obalande LGA? Mine showed Eti-Osa Lga but nothing is happening there as of today.

HELP!!!!! I got a text in July 2017 that I'm among the 2016 npower waiting list. I then went for my PV today @ ilorinwest LGA Kwara state but my name isn't on the list. I made a complaint to the officials there but they seems to have no idea of what I'm talking about. I have checked my name on the website with my BVN but no record found. Please I need urgent attention to know what next step to take.

Base on the last update on a program we intend to organize to complement and reaffirmed the move recently made by Honourable house members Lagos state House of Assembly led by Honorable Desmond Elliot to permanenet 2000 volunteers after the expiration of two years of this program.

We have therefore set up 20 man committeee headed by a beneficiary in Alimosho. The list comprises of all local Government and all arms of the program (N-teach, N-health & N-agro). One of the major objective of this program tagged "Npower week" as the case may be is to involved various stakeholders and Government officials to see the need of having volunteers to explore their potentials into the three main areas listed above and not just to focus on Nteach alone.

As this committee meet, we will be updating the house on the outcome of their meeting and we believe together, we will achieve our greatest desire after two year of this program.

The FCT chapter of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) has said the N-Power scheme of the Federal Government has failed to achieve the purpose for which it was meant.
A statement by the ALGON Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Abdullahi D. Galadima, which was issued to newsmen in Abuja yesterday, said the association was dissatisfied with the ongoing screening exercise of the successful applicants across the six area councils.
The association said the scheme has failed to capture the natives of the FCT across the six area councils.
Galadima, who is also the chairman of Kuje Area Council, noted that the N-Power scheme was a Federal Government programme under the social investment programme for job creation and empowerment initiatives, saying 80 percent of those that were captured in the scheme were people from other states.
“It’s important to note that, the idea of setting up the scheme is to help reduce unemployment at the grassroots level nationwide. But in our own case here in FCT, it is a different ball game,” he said.
The FCT ALGON chapter therefore called on officials of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) in the FCT who are currently carrying out the screening exercise across the six area councils to suspend it, until the anomaly is rectified.
The chairman of Abaji Area Council, Alhaji Abdulrahman Ajiya, had last Thursday ordered officials carrying out screening in the N-Power scheme to stop the exercise over non-inclusion of natives of the area.

N-Power: Nigerian government commences compilation of successful candidates

The Nigerian government has commenced the compilation of successful N-Power candidates in Adamawa State for the 2017/2018 programme.
The State Director, National Orientation Agency, Ahmad Abba, disclosed this in an interview with journalists on Tuesday in Yola.
Mr. Abba said that the agency, in collaboration with the Office of the Vice President, had begun the compilation of verified candidates for the second stage of the programme.
According to him, the exact number of those to be captured in the scheme would be made public after the compilation which will commence from December 19 to 22.
‘‘Initially, a total of 8,045 applied for the scheme in Adamawa for 2017/2018 programme and the candidates whose names were published had since been verified.
“no fewer than 25 officers are to be engaged in the compilation of the successfully candidates.
The director disclosed that successful applicants will start work from January, 2018.
He said the agency had challenges during the verification as some candidates failed to differentiate between local government of residence and local government of birth.
He noted that the program is free and fair meant for eligible Nigerians residing in an area, saying it had nothing to do with candidate’s indigene status.

Buhari on a mission to tackle poverty - Ekiti N-Power beneficiaries confess.

N-Power beneficiaries in Ekiti state have commended President Muhammadu Buhari for providing them an opportunity to serve and be
'gainfully employed'.
These youths said the opportunity as N-Power beneficiaries, has given them a lifeline from the ravaging graduate unemployment in Nigeria.
The president of the Ekiti state N-Power beneficiaries, Darasola Oladimeji, said the federal government's initiative has brought hope to many youths across Nigeria.
Oladimeji while speaking at the maiden anniversary programme of the group in Ado-Ekiti said the monthly N30,000 stipend and provision of electronic devices for the beneficiaries across the country has gone a long way to keep Nigerian graduates enlisted in the scheme away from criminal vices.
Describing President Buhari as “a man who is on a mission to tackle the poverty rate in Nigeria”, Oladimeji urged the federal government to ensure beneficiaries get permanent jobs or financial assistance at the end of their two-year programme.
He said the financial assistance would help entrepreneurs among the beneficiaries set up their businesses.
The FG had announced that any N-Power candidate caught making illegal payments will be disqualified.
The federal government also urged the applicants to challenge anybody asking for money and report them on its channels.
