Hello fellow Nairalanders,
Please l need your opinion and suggestions urgently, l have submitted my study permit application before noticing that third party hotel booking is not acceptable. Although l have called the hotel and they said my booking is confirmed. Do l have to book directly and send the confirmation via email directly to s.a embassy? My other documents are good, I hold a phd scholarship and I am also lecturing in a federal university... moreover l have visited s.a twice in the last 1 year for scientific workshops. I don't want to take any risk of denial of visa, so l am urgently waiting for your inputs, thanks and God bless.
You have nothing to worry about provided all your other documents are intact. The VO seeing all your credentials can see you're a true applicant. High chances your visa would be granted as a PhD applicant unlike visit or tourist. They may call you for further enquires regarding that, besides emailing them doesn't work. All the best.

2 or 3 days What exactly can one do to address this. When is best to book?

Thanks.

There's nothing anybody can do about it. Airlines cancel flights reservation after 48 or 72 hours.

You can book the day before submission or on the day of submission.

.

Why can't one make the booking ahead of the day he wants to submit visa application? Any detriment for that?

And after finally security visa, how will i pay for the flight, i can see cost in USD dollar here?

Thanks

I booked my flight reservations the day before submission and there was no issue. The embassy is aware that flight reservations get cancelled after 72 hours. There's nothing to worry about.

After securing visa, you will pay for tickets in Naira. I can help you get tickets. Nothing to worry about.

OK. I will do it a day ahead. Thanks
How do i do that? I doubt my debit card can do that because of transaction limit.
You can help me get tickets? How do you mean boss? Am i not supposed to get it and pay directly to them?

Can you tell me anything necessary to know about the flight reservation maybe while filling the online application or anything that may cause problem for me. As i don't want to encounter problem i might not have a remedy to.

Thanks

SAn embassy does not respond to emails.
Anyway, the reason why third-party bookings are frowned upon is that in some cases, the hotel may prioritize direct bookings over third-party. So long as you have your reservation confirmed by the hotel, then you are fine.

Don't fret, your travel history to the SA should reduce the level of scrutiny.

How do i pay for hotel reservation? Can i pay with my naija card as well. I was told I should book directly from the hotel, can you suggest some for me? I am heading to Free State, i will land in Bloemfontein Airport.

Thanks in anticipation

Honestly, it's faster to reach me here than email.
You can pay for your hotel reservation using your regular naira card.

Regarding hotels, I sincerely cannot make any recommendations since I reside in the Waterfront area of Cape Town.
Best bet is to use google maps - that is exactly how I did my booking last year.

1. Yes you can apply immediately

2. Are u sponsoring yourself? If NO, why didn't you put letter of sponsorship from the sponsor (parent,Uncle etc) stating they gonna be sponsoring you with their ID attached? That's why we strongly advice people here to read through all the pages before asking Q's or applying.

3. Submit with photocopies of all documents its fine.

4. On the SOP state the reason for your denial and how you've amended it by getting new statement of account from bank letter with ID of sponsor, letter of sponsor, signed & attached.

5. Contact your HOD, and if possibly your potential supervisor.

I advice you bother more on getting the visa than meeting up with the semester.

Do one really need to certify or notarize the sponsorship letter and Sponsor ID for study visa application?

Thanks

Good evening Gurus.

I have questions regarding this flight reservation matter.

I tried booking few minutes ago, my program is starting by Feb 05 so i choose Date of departure: Feb 01, 2018 and my program is supposed to end by December 2018 but the Day of Return/Arrival according to the airline calendar didn't pass November 12. So what can i do? Can i book from that same Feb 01 till Nov 12? I hope there's nothing bad in it?

Or what do you advise. Please advise me accordingly.

Thanks for your response. But i want to ask. Let assume i want to rent off campus residence from Naija do i need to pay before I arrive there?
I want to be sure, so that i can just book off campus accommodation directly rather than making hotel reservation since my university cannot assure me on campus residence.

Anyone in Free State here?

Please advise me accordingly Gurus.

Honestly, it will be difficult to get an off-campus accommodation before you arrive because, in SA, the lease agreement is a big deal.
My advice is, get the hotel accommodation for at least 2 days to boot.

Hopefully, someone from Free State axis may be able to offer better support.

Hello everyone,

Can anyone help with approximately how much will be sufficient to rent a students apartment in Cape Town? I will also appreciate if you may provide an estimate living cost. I am supposed to commence my PhD there in February. Thank you in adv.

I can help pay for the tickets with my card. You transfer the money to me and I pay for the ticket for you. More like a ticketing agent only in this case, I won't be taking commission.

I can tell that you are vulnerable from the way you ask questions. And if care is not taken, you are going to screw your application up or get scammed. Answers have been provided to all the questions you asked and you kept asking the same questions all over and spamming the TL. Why not carefully go through this thread and get the information you seek. I believe the answers to your questions are already here. And if you are to ask again, just type all your questions in a single post and take your time to digest the answers that will be provided to you. I did my visa application myself and I got all the information on this forum, so I can tell you that it is possible for you to do it too...

The issue of flight reservation is the simplest in this process and I have answered you that if you are applying in February, there is no need making reservations now in December. Its going to be the last thing that you are going to do. You can even make the booking on the day of submission.

Also, you need to ask people maybe you need a return ticket for student visa, if not, then you only need to book one way.

I wish you the best of luck.

P.S: Stop hiting people up in Private, you might get scammed.

I thought I was the only one who notice this. I stopped replying his quote when I saw he wasn't prepared with the whole application with the way he keeps answering same old questions again.

Study permit application is not rocket science, many people here that got the permit didn't ask many questions before applying. I'm so surprised someone going for postgrad could be asking & taking basic issues this way.

I hope he's not scammed with the way he send PMs, he will only have himself to blame anyways.

Good day Nlander,

Well done for all the help info up here.

I applied for tourist visa sometimes in October but I was refused based on "transactions on the account lacks credibility" even though my account statement was ledgit from the bank.

I am looking at applying next month but this time around with my wife.

I am a young entrepreneur while she works with multinational coy

My question are as follows

1) can I use my account for both of us or her own?
2) do we have to apply together or separate our application

What again do you think that I should know?

I look forward to reading your response.
