For a split second, I thought the headline was 'police arrests man whose vehicle broke down... ".

That's just how tattered and battered the image of the police is, such that there's so much cynicism and pessimism against the police registered in one's subconscious mind.

This is the height of misinterpretation of allocated and constitutional powers.

The job of the Nigerian Police is to protect lives and properties not repair lives and properties.

This policeman deserves a query.
What if that official vehicle gets damaged in the course of this selective assistance?
What if an emergency comes up and he can't attend to it swiftly a simply because he chose to be a mechanic?
I used to wonder why u were the most abused and vilified on the NL community, but I don't anymore. Cos u seem to think out of ur sh*t hole and that means ur thinking stinks.
Lagos is a city prone to crime and a broken down vehicle is at high risk of being robbed, occupants kidnapped or any such crimes coming upon them. In come the rapid response to the rescue and u say they were not protecting his live and property?
The police force needs more of intelligence and gadgets to work efficiently and effectively, they did a good deed and whether they were appreciated monetarily is a discussion for another day. I bet u not many motorist will stop to assist a fellow brother with a drained battery cos of fear of it being a trap, the police boldy comes and assist and u say it's out of their job description?
NwaAmaikpe Pls start thinking through ur brains before writing and stop writing when ur on the Bossom of that odd lady of urs. I rest my case.
Re: PHOTOS: Police Assists Man Whose Vehicle Broke Down In Lagos by greatman247(m): 7:49am On Dec 20, 2017
No matter what they do we the public still deman for endsars cos their bad deeds is always more than the good deeds

In a sane country like USA police assist people is normal in fact it's done everyday.

That's a norm in civilized societies. In the US, there are phone booths along the freeways to call in case of something like this and police will even give one free fuel when needed. If Nigeria ever gets Lagos, Aba, Kano and Onitsha right, then we'll get there someday.

Kudos to the RRS team.
Where in America would a police officer give you free fuel if you run out. You people have been watching too much Hollywood movies, they wouldn't even jump start you but call a tow truck for you talkless of giving you free fuel or you think they carry extra fuel in their patrol car. And there are no phone booths along the freeway stop lying with cellphones now so common you barely see a working phone booth anymore.

The Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos State Police Command on Tuesday evening assisted a road user whose vehicle broke down along Oregun Road, Ikeja.

RRS shared the pictures online with the caption: "Our men assisted this road user whose vehicle broke down along Oregun Road, Ikeja this evening. Our jump start cable got the job done and he carried on with his journey. Its our duty to serve and protect because we are #TheGoodGuys."

Not that all police officers and men are evil, it's the background that matters, I think a background check should be carried out first before intakes

For enthusiasts here, there are at least 3 phone booths in I110N between San Pedro and downtown LA and at least 3 in I405N and I405S.

I know a friend who ran out of fuel because of fuel gauge failure on I405 that the cops used a gallon to buy emergency fuel for. Just a gallon of fuel to help him drive to a nearby gas station to fill up.

Ignore the stvpid and arr0gant f00l that I quoted.
