My first car on uber was a 2007 camry v6.

I spent 9k on fuel daily. Any driver willing to take a v6 on rentals is just desperate. If you must go ahead with giving out a v6, take the car for a comprehensive scan and change all recommended componets.

check fuel system, suspension, and the cooling system.

then bear in mind that a v6 isnt isn't a corolla. If corolla drivers deliver btw 35k and 40k weekly, v6 drivers would deliver way less, because they spend way more on fuel.

same applies for the 2006 accord.

I dont agree with the last part of your post. I use a honda 06 here in ph. Even if i work only weekend, if i buy 4500k fuel i can use it to make about 20k. I dont know how to calculate the mathematical jargon, i sure make good money

My 5months experience has a Uber partner. Potential Uber partners please sit down and listen well . " I throw caution to the wind."
1. Before going into Uber. Investors need to ask themselves. Am I going into these business for the long haul or short term. If you are going for the short term . My advise is you either driver your car yourself or drive on a part time bases. Or better yet you can give your car to a fleet manager . That will manage your car for you.
My long term advice.
If you want to go for the long term. My advice to you is too ran away from any form of fleet management. The reason is that most of these so call fleet company. Don't have the time to help you grow your business. They have so many clients to deal with that you are not given proper attention to grow . The company are dealing with 50 cars and that's 50 different headaches, personality they have to manage. Most time once these company can able to afford to buy their own cars. They will now return the owners car . And they will now focus on their own goal. Uber is a very good business and it is here to stay.
If you are now in a position to grow your fleet . You will need to start building a team around you . That will dedicated their time and energy soley to you. And not to 50 or more different clients. You want to take these business seriously. You can hire a manager mainly for you . And also offer incentives. People are just giving their cars left and right. Without even thinking what is their objective . Let's throw caution to the wind people . I have more to say and am open to discussion as time goes on..
" we can agree to disagree respectfully" let us discuss

Have been keeping calm for too long. With these your statement. I totally disagree . I have ship cars to Nigeria myself for years. I will rather take my chances with tokunbo cars anytime of the day . Some cars in the USA do have a lot of rust due to the fact that it's snow in certain area in the states. But overall you can't compare it to Naija use in terms of the engine usage. In the states it is very rare for anybody to roll back the millage of car . It is even illegal. Now cars that are tokunbo that are ship to Nigeria. The millage is usually roll back in order to get a gud buyer. Usually they don't roll it back that much in order to make it too obvious to a potential buyer. That been said. What happens when the tokunbo car is sold to the first buyer. And he wants to sell the car after he gets tired of it. With about 5k naira he will roll it back. By the time the car is sold three times or fives times. The millage as been temper with it. So what are u saying bro. Do a mechanic have time to start checking the millage issue of the car before been sold to another buyer. Will the mechanic say let me take the engine apart to check the engine. I doubt that. Once the mechanic checks the car or engine and sounds great. He will ok has a good engine. A mechanic can not really check the life span of an engine by just looking at it. He might be suspicious if the engine is wash or leaking. That's why I don't recommend washing the engine of a car. And also keep in mind that tokunbo cars will need some fixing once it gets to Naija. A tokunbo car that has 100k miles. The shocks will be weak and will need to be change. The linkages and other stuff due to the high millage. It might last another 30k miles on Yankee road. But due to Nigeria factor it will not last three weeks before you start changing anything at all . That is a given. Also the rust that comes with a tokunbo cars . Unless the buyer of the tokunbo car is a learnered or first time car buyer. If he brings a good mechanic to check the car . A good mechanic can detect if the has rust on it . Back than the cars that I bring in have rust. We paint over it. A gud mechanic can detect that. And the underneath of the car . The frame and so fourth. A gud mechanic can to detect any cover up. Even if the car was in an accident. So to generalize it that most tokunbo cars are worse or high percentage of them are not as good has Nigeria cars is very reckless. You are giving false information. It's like me saying peugot 407 is the best car in nigeria and no any other car can compete. And please mind cars that come frm Europe are also salvage cars they also have rust. It snows in europe too. They have auction site too. Some of those cars are also reject too in Europe. I am base in the states. This is not somebody that has never travel out of the country siting down somewhere typing in his boxers and typing away. Please let's have an open mind. Most of you known more about cars than me. I can agree to that. But I have common sense too. A study came out saying that people only use less than 50 percent of their brain. We can discuss further. Again " we can agree to disagree respectfully" . Life and direct from the USA. Yours truly dru am signing off. Stay woke people
MOST TOKUNBO CARS (ABOUT 95%) SOLD IN NIGERIA ARE SALVAGED, FLOODED AND HIGH MILEAGE CARS SOLD BY INSURANCE COMPANIES IN NORTH AMERICA...SOME NIGERIAN USED ARE BETTER THAN TOKUNBO...
U CAN TEST HP, I ONLY ADVICED THE YOUNG MAN FROM EXPERIENCE... I HAVE BEEN INTO TRANSPORT BUSINESS BEFORE UBER/TAXIFY ENTERED NIGERIA, I HAVE GIVEN A CAR ON HP TOO... IT NEVER WORKED... OVER 15 OF MY FRIENDS ON UBER HAVE FAILED ON HP...THEY LOST ALOT OF MONEY...
MY OPINION...
NO HATING...ONE LOVE...
