Comedy is the most subjective form of entertainment. The movie did not promise to be deep in any way. Like someone mentioned the MARKETING is what is working for MO ABUDU. Which other Nollywood movie has generated this much debate this year?

1Oyibo system makes it easy to verify such claims i.e if they are lying someone will expose them
2 film one the distribution body in charge of the movie has not confirmed this so am not buying it.
3, there is not way in this world that wedding party sold over 80000 tickets on opening day.
In fact the only way it is possible is maybe if you add money from sponsors and private screening, even at that i am still skeptical
oreayo2011:
I feel so sorry for Nigerian youths, you all quote foreign media about the success of foreign ventures but yet refuse to celebrate your own.Iron man made 100million at the weekend box office,Jeff Bezos becomes the richest man worth whatever billions,Apple makes more profit yearly than Nigeria's budget.....Yet a smart woman who worked for 10 years in a place most of you fast and pray to work (Exxon Mobil)at an age lower than most of you are currently are, moves on to do other things her mind wanted to do and we can see the result of an exceptional mind.
If she had stayed in Mobil all these years, who would have initiated the format of talk shows that were not mere content without the accompanying income?Who would have employed all those studio hands, the gaffers, the sound guys, the audio engineers, the editors?Who would have thought of what to do with Tinapa in Calabar(a very celebrated project that died a very quick death)
Have you watched Ebonylife TV,the crystal clear quality, the sound, the attention to detail, and our attempt to meet regular standards out there?
We sit behind laptops and phones and condemn what should be our future dreams. When Mo Abudu leaves a hefty inheritance for her grand kids, your children would probably be lamenting about how unfair the world is not knowing their dads or mums in the noon of their lives were just cyber warriors(all talk ,no thought)
I wont chide and not encourage. The success of the thirty days series by AY and wedding party 1&2 is an eye opener to budding entrepreneurs.Tunde Kelani and Kunle Afolayan have been making great movies with a great cinematic ethos but they havent found this kind of success because of one missing ingredient called 'MARKETING' which Mo Abudu and her team have to a large extent gotten a hang of.Hollywood is over a hundred years old which means Nollywood would outlive us all and it will only get better. To all of you in the abroad asking if we watch movies in Nigeria, yes we do and in droves too.Do you watch movies in the country where you are resident?I guess not,as dem wan use work finish you,if you are legal that is(those who know, know).
For those waiting to download a pirated copy, somebody somewhere is working really hard to give away your sweat for pittance and that is not a curse,it is called KARMA.Food for thought, the highest paid actors in Bollywood earn millions of dollars in a poor developing country like India because they kept at the cinematic culture and proof is that some of you or people you know are hooked on ZEE World.Countless jobs have been created over the years in India and the actors make a very decent living.
So our dear cyber analysts, what difference are you going to make today that will positively impact tomorrow?
