Was it Buhari that caused the international price of crude oil to fall in 2015? Are you not aware that Nigeria has been a mono product economy and that any fluctuation in that price would prove devastating to an economy overly dependent on it? This is unlike the US where Obama was able to assure the US that they wouldn’t be seriously hurt by the fall in crude oil prices, because according to him the US was not dependent on crude oil. Was it Buhari that told the political class not to save adequate amounts of oil revenue for decades? This is unlike Norway that managed to save $800 billion and thus escaped the devastating impact of the fall in crude oil prices. In fairness to your write up, these things were beyond him. But I'm of the opinion that there are a hundred other areas where he has control over but he didn't act on. Why can't the pyramids of groundnut be revived? A chocolate factory in Nigeria should be in place to reap full benefit of the Ondo produced cocoa. A lot of things can be determined by the President. |

Op, check Buhari's record as the military head of state. Buhari is not productive. |

Wailers above me wailing to cover their incompetence! Crude oil prices was falling globally we agree, but still that same crude oil with falling prices remained the country's major source of income. The "sherrif" in wanting to impress himself picked up needless fights with the people of ND and they dealt with him accordingly, both him and Burantai beat a hasty retreat. The same political class who refused to save for the rainy day are now APC and dipping their hands deep into the savings account with the tacit approval of the dullard. I know you expect me to give you 20 reasons why Buhari is the cause of the current hunger haram in the land, sorry I won't because even my 2yr old knows them. APC made a bad situation worse---Sanusi2016 |

sekundosekundo:Don't mind the BMC latest recruit. I just hope he won't come here to cry when they refuse him protection. His Igbo for President 2023 project was defeated and he has found a new song. |

jeffizy:smiles... Other areas such as? He met a ready collapsed economy. Just like you admitted to the fact that things were beyond him. He was rather on a recovery mission. Everything that made the country work was down. So which other areas did he have control but didn't act? A quick reminder that the OP talked about oil and that is what drives the Nigerian economy. And Mind you also that Nigeria had no single control of the oil price(s) in the international Market, lest we should say they would have controlled things. The oil was the Major source of income for the country and the driver of the economy, ones that oil price collapsed, the whole economy collapsed with it Or were you expecting the Groundnuts pyramids in the first or second year of his rule to perform the magic? That magic was never going to be possible. If Nigeria had other sources of income then it would have been better. The NOT savings culture of Nigeria and by extension Africa is what is dealing with us all. If the Money Nigeria Made from crude Oil sales were SAVED as it should then the president would have had a nearly smooth ride. |

benuejosh:Yes sir, your points are indeed true. I just want to see him start a drive towards breaking away from the detrimental total dependence on the oil. A break through in 2003 by the Obasanjo administration that brought the gsm is an example. All in all, I believe he will make an impact despite the loud rants of the naysayers and secessionist attacks. |

jeffizy:and you believe those thing can fill in the short fall for us to avoid recession in just 2 years right in the face of little money for serious diversification. To be candid to this government, its unfair to say they caused the hardship, in fact they have performed economic miracle to still have a country to govern in face of serious past failures. |
| Re: Failure Of Political Class Caused Recession, Not Buhari by kolaaderin: 6:04am On Dec 21, 2017 |
frankyychiji:Hear yourself out, the same Militant that was created by the past governments failure. If they are not created inthe first instant, they will not even pick a fight with anyone. To me this government performed in the face of all opposition created stumbling blocks, Niger delta militant, Boko Haram, IPOB, MASSOB and Fulani Herdsmen. All this shouldnt have existed if not for the 16 years failure of the past government. |

kolaaderin:I share your sentiment. Perhaps, his aides are doing him over with lack of eloquence in highlighting his achievements. You rightly said the expectations were too much within the first two years. I guess that's where the negative energy been dispensed across the country comes from. We are Nigerians, we are impatient. ![]() |

jeffizy:The fact is we are already in recession before this government, there achievement is actually piloting the country away from total collapse which i believe those that are not Biased with the hate for BUHARI actually understand this. |

There is no money to buy goods and resurcitate production. Buhari is responsible to remove recession and arrange The Country for better productivity, costs, incomes and profitability policies. It's his duty also to cooperate with nass for democratic law enforcement without impunity. |
| Re: Failure Of Political Class Caused Recession, Not Buhari by Nobody: 7:00am On Dec 21, 2017 |
kolaaderin:Exactly. If not we would have dived from the frying pan of recession into the fire of depression. From day 1, this government faced very grave economic cataclysms whose cause they knew little of. The culture of burning money like we are burning harmattan bush is what has caught up with us. Even before Buhari became President, the intransigence of the political class had already made recession a foregone conclusion. If any error can be ascribed to Buhari, it is only that he didn't react quickly enough or he wasn't given the full picture. But he remains the best bet in 2019. |

Was it also the political class that took Nigeria recession when he was military head of state? Which governors took FG to court demanding the savings from excess crude account be shared to state governors.? Oga you better look for something important to write about otherwise you would be on the same level with Sarrki in BMC crew. Have you seen hungerbad of recent? I hope they have paid him his own BMC salary for November. |

Is Buhari not aware of all these before applying to be the president ![]() When Buhari was the head of state, was this country not in recession ![]() When Buhari was one time the minister of petroleum, what remarkable change did he offer Nigerians Then what has the political class got to do with it then ![]() Was it the political classes that made those electoral promises for him ![]() Is it the political class that we voted for ![]() Whose duty is it to ensure that the political class/Cabal did not obstruct his good policies ![]() Was it the political class that let Maina, Babachir, Mahmoud, Baru off the hook while he arrest Fani Kayode and co over similar cases ![]() Were they the ones who brought disunity in this country through ethnic division ![]() He is a president for Christ sake! Are they the ones to honour federal character ![]() Shouldn't he respect and also ensure that citizen obey the constitution ![]() Were they also responsible for the removal of oil subsidy Did they also promised to better the lives of Nigeria if the subsidy is removed ![]() Instead of improvement of life, his change brought recession still the fuel is scarce ![]() Are they the ones that would put syringe in the hospital ![]() Are they the ones that allocate billions in the budget with nothing to show for it ![]() Are they also the ones who recently approved $1b out of nothing cause I can assure you that a country that can spare $1b without blinking an eye is not poor but lacks good management! |

kolaaderin:Your hero Buhari was the first to whip up religious and ethnic sentiment when the past administration clamped down on BH! Have you forgotten the popular "a fight against BH is anti north"?. Have you forgotten how your hero confronted late Lam Adesina with the volcanic "your people are killing my people" at the onset of Fulani herdsmen killing tendencies? Now he is in power and they have become emboldened like never before, wiping out a whole generation in some middle belt communities while your hero looks on with sealed lips amidst public outcry! Fulani herdsmen were profiled as the 4th deadliest terrorist group by the International Terrorism index! Why has your government refused to recognize them as such? Where were you when APC vehemently rejected the international declaration that BH was a terrorist group? Where were you when APC vehemently opposed the state of emergency in affected states to allow the army do a thorough cleansing of BH in those states? Oga, liv trash for lawma! The whole truth behind the activities of BH will unfold in our lifetime and Buhari will surely have a date with destiny! |
