I know this could only happen in Africa. In a civilized country, you call the police. And the man gets booked for assault and battery. Everything is done differently in this monkey ruled country. It's so heart breaking that I am a Nigerian. And thank God for Lagos state, at least the husbands here are learning to take things easy with bad wives. Beat your wife or house girl and end up decorating the frontpage of newspapers and blogs. The shame enough is resetting Lagos men brain.

In Africa the husband would NEVER be booked for assault and battery and you know it. I see you blamed the woman with your comment stating 'learning to take things easy with bad wives"

The community know them both and would know whether she is a 'bad wife's or if he is an abusive husband.

Their flogging of him tells you what they know.

A round of applause goes to that community and if there were more communities that revisited their ways of community responsibility it may make a better Africa imho.

Finally some men that can put their fellow men in check for domestic violence and defend the women in their midst.

And you think in those sane countries that you referenced, the man will be sent home with a pat on his back for assauting his wife?

In fact, in the countries you referenced; the man will be afraid to call the authorities...because he stand to lose more...He will be thrown into jail for assault, after serving his years in prison, he will be forbidden from contacting his wife, he will be disallowed from seeing his kids, he would have lost his job and now that, he is out of prison, no one will be willing to hire a felon and his felony records will follow him for the rest of his life.

Even, if the cops shows up about some reported flogging through an anynomous caller, the guy will even denied that anyone flogged him...because he know that, the beating he received is a token of love, compassion and care; compare to what will happen to him, should the pandora box be opened.

in truth, there re men who deserve such treatment... I.e to taste their own poison. I had such experience in our compound, man doesn't allow his wife to work, womanizes like kilode, treats dis woman like shit, doesn't allow her to talk with neighbours...so that dey won't tell her wat to do.
Beating continued to d extent our landlord had to intervene..4 where, then one day d man gave a beating like no other blood was gushing from her head n v.g people started reacting, booing asking her to involve d police. But she was too faint hearted, I already knew she couldn't do it..whether it was love 4 d hubby or because of her children I don't know.
So I called one of her sisters, told her to involve d welfare abi na human right, me I don't know wat dey did or told d man but since then d beatings stopped. D lady didn't no how d beatings stopped, saw d lady n she was thanking God d beatings have stopped.
So sometimes certain measures have to b taken.

It is not good for one to be beating his wife always. But failing to beat her at all will make her not to show much respect to you as the head of the family. Any man that beats his wife always is a sadist. As a wise man, you only beat her once in a while, like 4 to 6 months intervals. Flog and beat her so much any time you want to do so and let her be for sometime. The last time I flogged my wife was in July and believe me, I have not touched her since then although her " Bleep-ups" don increase wella.
