I know this could only happen in Africa. In a civilized country, you call the police. And the man gets booked for assault and battery. Everything is done differently in this monkey ruled country. It's so heart breaking that I am a Nigerian. And thank God for Lagos state, at least the husbands here are learning to take things easy with bad wives. It's a good thing u mentioned Africa. Africa and Europe or North America n Co are all different culturally and otherwise. Even if you report the man to the so called authorities here nothing comes out of it. I have seen this happen times without number. A man in my area beat his 1st wife till she ran away... He did d same 2 d second wife and she also ran away. He then went to the village and got a girl of 16 or so as wife... The first day he beat her.... Just for forgetting to heat his water for his bath... He almost killed her... The guy Na our Bros for area... But we got him that very night... Tied him up and dealt seriously with him. He never tried it again.... Different strokes for different folks.... Wife battery n husband battery(some woman beat their husbands too) is a terrible thing.... Women/men have died as a result of this and all because neighbours approached the issue with soft hands...just as you are suggesting... Mtsheeeeww

Well in a sane country the woman would probably have received real help from the police. In Naija They will forće her to settle it at home as husband and wife matter. Even rape is settled out of court backed by the police who seem to always want to help the abusers evade the long arm of the law. So when you mention sane, know that it works both ways, if the people trust that they can get justice, they will work the same way. Plus who says people dont take laws into their own hands in sane countries from time to time? Shii happens and this is one óf them.
