So, you did not see Aye, you did not see Africa, you did not see Come Make We Go, you did not see Iyawo Mi, you did not see Pakurumo, My Darling, Joromi, Nnekata, Ada Ada, Wait For Me, Fia.....

This must be the first time you are watching an African music video
The hypocrisy or should I say the ignorance of some of the posters on this thread is astounding.
Nudity is and has been a part and parcel of the African culture. Wearing thick clothes, suits and the rest is an attempt to copy the westerners. And also because of religion.
People should try and read so that they can cure their ignorance.
funny how you think Africans are some modest people who are always covered when in fact, the idea of wearing clothes was introduced by Westerners

Many African tribes still embrace nuditu till today, case in pont, the Zulu people. So, I don't understand how you assume Africa is a land of anything that has nothing to do with nudity

Do not confuse the teachings of Western religion as African tradition, nudity is not alien to African tradition at all, it has never been

Nobody was all covered up under the heat of sub-saharan Africa
but ther was no rape.i dnt blame d musicians i blame our female youth wat annoy me about gals nt our swt mothers they wil b shnuting pervert boys men ar dogs bla bla.but wen it shw on music they b dancing.y am sayin so is ther a tym wen ferminist wer fighting rappers perverted videos.but lost d war y rappers told d ferminist dt they do it 4 moni nd wen they sing about women bein bitches nd protray it in their video.youth gals dance 2 it.because female youth ar hypocrites.4 example if african female youths raise up against bigbrotha shower hour dt wil d end of shwer hr they hav d power nt our mothers.but do they no because they lik it.but wen it makin guys perverted they start shouting.d same goes 2 porn.

It is somehow strange when you exhibit Pan-Africanism one moment and the next you go totally contrary to what you claim you represent.

Melanine, though symbolises the deep dark African skin and pride, but then again, how nudity comes in becomes a wonder.

Perhaps Clarence didn't understand the meaning of the word, perhaps the so-called singer didn't as well. The truth is that Clarence missed this one. It would have made a whole lot of sense to have those ladies clad and modest, which would have reflected the one-time African dignity we held in high esteem rather than set them beside a sea shore like slaves that had been bought.

Videos like this one would make you question your own intellect at some point. 'Melanine' is our pride, and it is not associated with nudity in any way.

Clarence goofed.

You ended up mixing your points up and left a space open. What we should be asking now is, 'was nudity in vogue as at the time the White man introduced clothing and textile to the black man?'

Yes, Africans realised they were naked when the White men came and they wasted no time in carving a dress sense for themselves which was never truly European. It became our thing and wore it with pride.

In a bid to protest against the colonialists, do you go about naked just because it used to be your thing?

If you were given a camera, a crew and some money to shoot an expository video of your very own people, your kindred, would you ask the ladies to go unclad or perhaps make G-strings out of leaves and and shake from left to right? You get the problem now, yeah?

Social media happened and that it is why nudity spread like wild fire. The desperation for attention, social media likes and compulsive Internet trend forced most people to hate their clothes. But then again, the simple logic comes to play; in a bid to fault whatever the white man did/brought, one's body parts was much revered than any other thing in the past.

That you should about the heritage of your people does not mean you must date it back to the days of Adam and Eve, when they walked about all day without knowing they were naked and unashamed about it.

Sex sells faster than anything in the world today and the same thing goes for nudity.

You spoke like you were in existence then,in my community in rivers state(Okrika) nudity is still celebrated till today.

nudity has never ever been due to poverty..

Africans invented education, clothing e.t.c.. they had best knowledge of farming they grew cottons, built armors, helmets e.t.c
your knowledge of African history is terrible.. you're victim of brainwashing...

Africans and black people in general are dying because of lack of sunlight...

history that makes you feel good. how can you claim to invent something and never worked on it. Was it that the education wasn't good to be worked on. You are the one being brainwashed with an history to make you feel good. Yet over the years, African hasn't woken to the reality and importance of education.
