Day 11 they've all sprouted, yesterday I saw that fowl are eating up the leaves of the melon, despite the fact that I've sprayed them with pesticides and fungicide, how do I control this. Please your comments will be highly appreciated

Day 25: so yesterday I noticed the watermelon started withering due to the fact that I've not watered them for about 4days due to tight schedule, so I bought hose to make watering easier, but this morning they're reviving thank God. Here are some of the pics I promised let me know if they're growing well.

It's bush rabbit that eat off the seedlings. What you have to do is create a scarecrow in different strategic position s in your farm, if need be you could set traps. I experienced same in my cucumber farm early this year and I tackled it that way.... Mine was pure organic farming so I didn't apply chemical herbicides and fungicide. I used Neem

Thanks but it's the leaves that are being eaten off and not the seeds as they have not gotten to that yet. But I found out that it was chicken that are eating them off

I know, at that stage of growth, they are called seedlings cos they are vulnerable.

They are doing perfect. When do you intend to thin them?
Re: My Watermelon Experiment Farm by Nobody: 10:49am On Dec 27, 2017
At this stage, they should be watered early in the morning and late in the evening so as not to stress the plants. Take care not to water directly on the leaves cos they are not strong and could easily break off.

Maybe in the coming weeks or so.

Thanks, they started to whither until I got a hose and hubby assisted in bringing them back with constant watering

Day 31 some of the watermelon have started flowering, though some on the other hand some of them are shrinking, I don't know if it's the lack of water that affected them before, and also I saw that one of the watermelon is bringing seed already here are the pics
