TheAngry1:You don't get the point. It's not about celebrating or not celebrating the news. In normal countries like Germany, the UK, the US, etc, when you hear news like this, you are 100% sure it would impact the society positively? The question you need to ask yourself is, how does this affect you and others positively? You and i know that this news does not mean shiit in a densely corrupt country like Nigeria. The news is like saying "we are the top nation in basket production and we will be using it to fetch water". As long as corruption exists in Nigeria at the level it is, it's people can never see any meaningful impact. |

| Re: Nigeria Stock Market Among The Top 5 Global Performers In 2017: CNN by TheAngry1: 3:12pm On Dec 28, 2017 |
Bollinger:Look, we have gone through a lot lately and ANYTHING little positive should be celebrated. How does this trickle down to the masses? Well, does whose stocks performed would be able to create jobs and provide for their families. It doesn't cost much to invest in the stock exchange, the NSE is still one of the cheapest in the world. |

TheAngry1:You do understand that the goal of a company is not to create jobs but to to make profit right? Just because i have more cash flow does not mean i start hiring. It means i have cash reserves in case of emergencies. And if i were Nigerians, i would hold of on celebrating anything until corruption is crushed. Doing anything else is delaying the inevitable. |

TheAngry1:I don't know if you know how it works in normal countries but that is not how they police compliance. Which is what Nigeria lacks. They ensure everyone is held accountable to the law. There is always, and i mean always, personal and individual audit. All day everyday. I'm here scratching my head as to how this stock news stops a policeman from demanding bribe in the middle of traffic. |

This can be good PR for the Nigerian Bourse if its handlers can capitalize on it. Imagine all the benefits accruable. |

Bollinger:Although I don't agree with you, I nonetheless like your train of thoughts and your discourse maturity. Me still thinks there is nothing wrong with celebrating 'little successes'. It is little drops like this that form critical mass of successes that are tangible and that can spiral to everyone. It's like saying we should not celebrate our qualification for the World Cup because there is corruption. How does World Cup celebration stop a policeman from demanding bribe? It probably won't, but does that mean we should not celebrate it? I know the contexts are different, but I hope you get my point. |

APC propaganda abi? Buhari is the best thing to happen to Nigeria in our history. He's the only man to have the impetus to destroy the FAULTY foundations and start rebuilding from the scratch even though it would have a negative effect on his pocket. He literally went abroad and was campaigning for investors as soon as he assumed office. I followed his speech throughout. That man genuinely loves this country. He does. He could have used his tenure to steal and establish his children, but no, he has been working round the clock, trying to see how to fix this mess. Buhari is just the man Nigeria needs |

The stock performance is based on using few workers as slaves to achieve the same old result. Operating cost of most firms was low due to massive sack, thus a high profit. Thanks to a country without employment laws/labour laws |
