After it started leaking, we waited for it to stop. Then started the car. It refused to start. Fuel gauge is now showing empty even though there’s fuel in the tank. I believe it has failed.

Clearly, Autologic replaced a fuel pump that wasn’t the issue for the error code based on him reading his textbook and google results upside down.

While I don't know Nissan Electrical systems, I do know what you said about fuel pump failure relating to fuel sender and fuel leak sounds more amusing than what you are accusing Autologic for. Before you cast stone at someone, check yourself if you are sure you don't deserve same stone you are about to throw.

Low fuel pressure can throw a lot of error codes in Lions. Faulty oxygen sensor error code may be unlikely in this case, but doesn't mean its impossible. At least, it wont be the only code. If truly the Nissan vehicle in question ought to have 50 psi fuel pressure while engine is running, then something was wrong with your fuel delivery which could be weak fuel pump, faulty Fuel pump assembly, partially blocked fuel filter or damaged fuel line. So, yes, something was wrong with the fuel supply. Stop acting like it wasn't, unless 40psi is vehicle factory fuel delivery psi. Whether it was the fuel pump or other fuel delivery components was the culprit(s) is not what I am here to discuss. Oxygen sensor might still be faulty or something is making it appear faulty, but what you are doing here reminds me why I am who I am.

A lot of Nigerians love abusing their vehicles and later on look for who or what to pass blames to. A lot of Nigerians prefer to buy abused vehicles because they are cheap, with intention to look for someone to fix the abuse at cheap price. And when they don't get it, they resort to blames to the vehicle brand, mechanics, electricians or imaginary witches in their villages. The vehicle in question may not be the case, but I have seen enough to know Nigerians love this drama.

@ Autologic,

This is what happens when you try to prove yourself to people. I don't do it. I am not here to defend you, prove you right or wrong. Just to remind you that you created this reality or drama yourself.

I can never bring my car to him again because he doesn’t know what he’s doing. If you check, this isn’t the first time I’ll complain. Every time something happens, I remember his horrible work.

This is simply my review so someone else won’t have to experience what I did.

@ this junction, I think the best route is to take it back to him to conclude. he already has history with the vehicle, it'll be easier for him to come around!

one more thing, inasmuch as I like to indulge in extreme sarcasm I'm also a very realistic person!
when u take ur car to a mechanic, don't always play the "I don't trust you" game, it seldom pays. just give him one more unbiased and unsentimental trial, remember that before u condemn something or someone, give them/it the benefit of the doubt to an extreme degree.... 'when there is no law, there is no sin'..... in this case, 'when there is no tangible proof of vehicle desecration, there exist no form of condemnation'

so in summary, its OK to be the devil becos most people take angels for granted?

@ autologic, we have had our differences but retrospect review shows u have had some self analysis and the modifications are evident to all.

lemme correct an impression, u didn't bring any bad drama or reality to urself, its just business!!

business has got its ups and downs, what makes u stand out is how u handle the downs, anyone can be happy wen everything is OK, only very few people can handle bad situations positively..... that's how u know outstanding people..

I have to commend ur handling of the situation, its near perfect!
gazuzz has had his challenges, kingreign and several other people, all u need to do is isolate the mistake and prevent a reoccurrence...., but to change ur personality completely becos something happened how many times will u now change it? becos something must happen every now and then!
PS anyone that preaches that u can actually avoid all forms of rough situations in the course of ur business is actually trying to make himself feel good...

@NanaF,

You took a car to a tech with OS code, and performance issue. You both test drive, and confirm performance issue. Tech tells you OS is fine, but fuel pressure lower than spec.

Tech proceeds to change fuel pump without charging for/replacing OS. You confirm performance was better afterwards, but complained about vehicle pulling to one side (unrelated to initial repair).

You have never filled fuel tank to brim (probably since owning this vehicle), and does so after seven months, tank leaks, and it is attributed to replaced pump. Sender stops working, and is attributed to replaced pump. Vehicle won't start, and it is linked to replaced pump.

After repair, tech kept 'disturbing' you for performance update, and you kept saying your mum drives the car, so you don't know. If there was a problem, wouldn't your mum have complained?

Yes tech may not have fixed your OS code issue, which he did not charge you for, but as far as I can see, he fixed your performance issue.

Somebody has asked what repairs have been carried out on this vehicle in the last seven months.

Tech SAID OS code is caused by faulty fuel pump which caused us to change the fuel pump. Was that resolved? No. Instead he added more issues to us. Performance issue still unresolved.

How won’t I have ever filled tank to the brim since owning the vehicle? That’s not possible.

The performance issue hasn’t been fixed, it was never fixed. Vehicle wasn’t pulling to one side, I don’t even know what that means. Maybe a better word is ‘hesitating’.

He kept disturbing me and asking me and I told him I’m not the one driving the car but I think it’s better. As I speak, the performance issue still lingers, it never left. For a technician to say revving sound in car is from radiator hose and you’re still supporting same, I rest my case.

We basically wasted money and got absolutely nothing but more problems in return.

My mum complained and I told him when I called him. He said we were to leave it for some days further checks. After the experience we have had with him, leaving it was not an option anymore.

The damage has been done but I will leave my review.

take the vehicle back to him, autologic prides himself in his work. inasmuch as it seems autologic is OK with the discredits, I know him too well, he is only hiding it.

return the vehicle and if not for anything but bragging rights..... autologic will definitely FINISH(in a good way) the vehicle this time.

don't get me wrong, its not like he didn't get the job done the first time cos I cannot reconcile why itll take this long to shout if ur job was poorly done the first time.

Autologic, the lord is your strength.

The car was too low and couldn’t enter his workshop and he doesn’t do Nissan.

You should call what is bad by it’s correct name.

I have had dealings with this same popular mechanic after this and had no issue with him. He even gave me a heavy discount some months ago.

Coincidentally he suggested Autologic on his thread a while back when I was looking for a Nissan mechanic. It was a suggestion but I didn’t see any reviews to help me form an opinion. This is me helping another person.

we don't know what oda stuff had gone wrong with the car during that period

in all iv read,iv not seen where the supposed replacement fuel pump has failed...... as fuel is leaking and not that the car wldnt start

I like how "baba daunting" has defended this scenario grin

if the lady had taken the car back for further checks as agreed, then this issue for get head

not taking the car back for more checks seems to me like the car was performing well.....as in,who visits a mecho when car is working well

autologic has said to bring the car in.....do that

difference is that, this time demeanors are aware and will even follow up ur daunting issue on ur behalf once the car is in his workshop

in my workshop we have a special form that includes fuel level when vehicle is brought in. If you bring in a vehicle with an empty tank, it will not be accepted.

I have always complained and to be fair to him, he has always said bring the car back.

I just don’t have confidence in him because an oxygen sensor issue is something that should be minor and if he couldn’t do that.....then the suggestion he also made about the revving sound being caused by a leak in the hose was also very surprising.

What if it is even the oxygen sensor causing the performance issue because the code is still there?

That was my personal experience with him and I rest my case.
