So if you think say na office you go de stay better zero ur mind oo or kuku go join police, or civil defence, the chances of you going to the fronts is high. |

abiodunalasa: if u are opportune to join the Army as either SSC or RC. After ur POP u are to chose the corps in which you want to serve. It can be the combatant corps or support/service corps. But at the same time Army also decides which corps to fix you. My friend Lt HS Abdul a member of 40SSC is in S and T corps. So being a RC or SSC doesn't really means u will serve in a combat corps. Former COAS before Lt Gen Minimah was a RC and was in the Engineering corps. |

all the 63RC female officers that passed out last yr, none of them is in the combat corps. So don't be scared. But I bet u, as far as u are in the Army, inrespective of the corps u belong. U will some day test the war zone. It's an adventure. U will like it. God bless Nig Army God bless Army aspirants God bless the officers and soldiers God bless Nig. 4 Likes |

Re: Nigerian Army SSC And DSSC 2016/2017 Forum by GenAnsahCinC: 6:45pm On Jan 02, 2018 |
abiodunalasa: After POP you will be asked to choose the corps you want to belong. Though Army also decides where you belong. And also your attitude during training is going to play a major role too. Training instructors do keep a close watch on every trainee/cadet. So to decide where the will function well. |

Re: Nigerian Army SSC And DSSC 2016/2017 Forum by Nobody: 9:15am On Jan 03, 2018 |
Olayemi244:Baba have patience and finish ur program, what will be will be. What's the essence of running HND when you have no intentions of using it. Pause first no tell me say you go upgrade later, because its not as easy as you guys think. #patience is key hold your degree for hand aim for short service, my own view oo, you are free to make your choice. 1 Like |

Re: Nigerian Army SSC And DSSC 2016/2017 Forum by GenAnsahCinC: 4:18pm On Jan 03, 2018 |
Abdurrasheed31: No bro. Army has Mech, Elect/Elect Engrs. Former COAS tried bringing Aviation into the system which would have paved way for Aroenautical Engrs being enlisted into the Army because recently Nig Army started training pilots. But the plan didn't work for him. |
Re: Nigerian Army SSC And DSSC 2016/2017 Forum by GenAnsahCinC: 4:34pm On Jan 03, 2018 |
Olayemi244: a friend of mine was in these ur shoes. This is what he did. He applied for Army RRI. The truth is, chances of bein enlisted in the Army via merit is High in the RRI than the RC,SSC and DSS. Remeber RRI takes more than 100 candidates per state. While RC, SSC and DSS take less than 15 per state. So after applying for Army RRI He was enlisted and went to depot for training. After training, he was deployed to Education corps. He serve under his CO Lt.Col Etim. And was so loyal. After some years he told his CO his intention of goin back to school and since he is in Education corps, the need for him to ugrade academically was necessary. His CO approved his request. Right now he his doing his HND 2 at Airforce Institution of Technology in Kaduna. When he graduates, He will apply for DSS. And God helping him, he will make it and will becom a Lt in few years to com. My bro I will advice u to take ur time, pray and let God leads u. |

Studying the "Right course " to an extent matters a lot. people that studied fisheries, agronomy, Fashion design etal have limited options in the military especially Navy, and Airforce Army is better because of the SSC window but again age is another factor. People gunning for DSSC have a lil advantage age wise because 35yrs is the Max age for specified professions e.g Engineering, medicals etc while Chaplain/Imams is even up to 40yrs. SSC is accommodating for all courses but like I said age (29years kpatakpata 30yrs) is the problem. |
