The hatred you people have for the southwest will only cause you lots heart attacks while our region continues to develop. Instead of you to hold responsible your leaders for their incompetence, you're here ranting on people doing good for themselves. Continue to hate ooo, your misery is our happiness. "2nd wealthiest state"? Is that really based on any hard data (GDP, GDP per capita, basic stats on median income and income distribution etc)? I'm not a "hater" and don't wish to get involved in the usual juvenile, tribalistic twaddle but I find a good number of the random stats peddled around to have no real credibility when you scrutinize the methodology involved and the data on which the studies are based. I don't even believe the Osun indigenes here really believe this claim. |

And yes, Aregbesola, while fiscally irresponsible, has probably surpassed all governors in the country in capital project delivery (despite one of the lowest state net revenues making it even more impressive). Don't see what this has to do with Osun being the "second wealthiest" state in the country. 1 Like 1 Share |

uglyafonja:Just imagine this illiterate and liar comparing Ebonyi and Osun state in terms of education, saying Ebonyi is ranked 7th in education. This is the same Ebonyi that is classified as an Educationally Less Developed State (ELDS) alongside the Northern states. Ebonyi and Bayelsa are the only Southern states in that unenviable category. Since you are an illiterate and never wrote UTME, you wouldn't know this fact. 13 Likes 1 Share |

*Osun State Situation* The gross income of a Grade level 16 officer step 9 in Osun state is N163,856.01.we are using this grade level as an example because it is the highest you can rise to as a Director except you are on a special grade. Now, if you divide this by half, you will have N81,928.00. Now, when you go through deductions like PAYE: 7.5% contributory pensions and other deductions, the net income will come to around N70,000.00. This is for someone who has put in less than 20 years in service, who has kids in higher institutions and who has dependants. It goes down the line for those who are between Grade levels 8-15. The question we want to put to the Governor is how have all these people been surviving on this meagre income? Can he even wish it on himself that a fresh graduate who is his son will be paid N50,000 in a month. How have all these people been surviving for 27 months without their entitlements. These people have mouths to feed, children to send to school, clothes to wear and other things to do. How many of them can even afford to send their kids to any of the so called over hyped schools including Osun State University on what they are currently earning as income? We laugh when we read of how Osun state has one of the best GDPs in the country. The reality is Osun is one of the poorest States in the country. Poverty is written all over the people. Civil servants are not going to spend their salaries in heaven now. They will spend it in market places, among the artisans and populace. The multiplier effect is what makes the economy grow, we are dying slowly in our thousands. Forget all the rhetorics, Osun State is the only State paying half salaries. Our homes are like bereaved homes. We have suffered enough. We are dying. Help us. God will see us through. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Dalek:PDP knows that Osun is a core APC state through and through. Osun is the only SW state that has not delivered for PDP at the national level for more than 8 years now. Bayelsa is in deep sh1t but they refuse to say anything. Delta is deep in systemic corruption yet they say nothing. Ekiti is govern by a dictator that has refuse to pay salaries, yet they say nothing. Rivers is govern by a cultist yet they praise him 1 Like 1 Share |

When election is approaching you should not be surprised to see all sorts of publication of advertising non performance Governors and politicians .It is blinded eye that can't be covered by cap. Aregbesola embarks on infrastructure at the expense of human development. Are they the ghosts of the workers he has sent to their untimely graves for not paying their salaries who are going to use them ? For they are not able to have medical attention because of money Or The students that dropped out from schools for their parents are not paid to pay their tuitions ?Or Half educated children and students who their teachers can't give out the best to teach because of hunger?? Who are the future leaders of Odunuga. Or Broken homes children for fathers or mothers unable to fulfill their responsibilities for nonpayment of salaries? Or Drs who would look for where to get money in order to feed ther families? Your st hospitals are to be attended for medical certificate of death? Where paid Drs are shying away from work because of load of job not to talk where you don't pay them. Welfare of your people should be paramount to any other things. The sweat of labor most not dry before payment. Who doesn't know awarding and embarking on contracts are good avenues of siphoning state money with inflated contracts .Or to compensate your party loyalists. Stop and be human. With the shed like classrooms Pa Jakande built to phase out three shiftings schooling in Lagos many great people were their products today . |

[s] vhykeeytor:[/s] Sadly for you ignorant and unintelligent Igbos, civil service is a fraction of any state's economy. Massive infrastructure projects creates jobs and scale up IGR. Achitects are involved, engineers, painters, plumbers, electricians, tile layers, lawyers, accountants are all involved, school feeding program feeds thousands of school children dive times a week and the food produce and meats comes from thousands of farmers producing the farm produce and meats to meat the daily demand, countlessly cooks and food vendors have to serve the good, transporters are part of that economic chain, cocoa is Nigeria's second largest export and a large portion of it comes from osun farms and farmers, most of the KFC chicken Kentucky fried Chicken serve in their restaurants in Nigeria comes from osun farmers as the only certified farmers by Kentucky fried chicken to supply their main raw material and so on. The hundreds of bullions spent on infrastructure in osun state means hundreds of billion cycling and getting recycled inside the economy in osun state and people are getting paid with it, buying and selling with it, banks loaning money to businesses with it. You should have asked yourself what happened to all the hundreds of billion they are spending on infrastructure. The money is feeding families, paying school fees, starting businesses and creating more opportunities and more IGR. I responded to your ignorant comment against my best judgement because intelligent discussion is above low graders and meager IQ people like you. 3 Likes |
