1. OXFORD UNIVERSITY, ENGLAND
Oxford University is the second oldest
university in the world still functioning.
Although its exact founding date is
unknown, it is believed that it has at
least
been in existence since 1096. Oxford
University has produced 27 Nobel
laureates
to date. One of the offerings of Oxford
University that has attracted numerous
students over the years is the
prestigious
Rhodes Scholarship.There are currently
19,718
students at the university, 35 per cent of

2. STANFORD UNIVERSITY
Not only known for being the largest
contiguous university campus in the
United
States, Stanford also has a long and rich
tradition for producing alumni that are
extremely successful in the areas of
business among others. Some of the
companies established by Stanford
alumni
include Google, Yahoo!, Nike, and
Hewlett-
Packard to name a few.The university
boast of having 30 living
billionaires, 17 astronauts, 18 Turing

3. HARVARD UNIVERSITY
The
university has 12 schools, a Radcliffe
Institute for Advanced Study, two
theatres
and five museums.Havard University is
well-
known for the hand it has had in
developing
many leaders of the United States. A total
of
8 presidents so far have been Harvard
graduates. In addition to producing
United
States presidents, Harvard University has
also produced an impressive 151 Nobel
laureates to date. Additionally, this

is number one when it comes to

4. MASSACHUSETTS INSTITUTE OF
TECHNOLOGY
The average tuition fee for MIT is $
45,016. It
hosts
more than 11,000 undergraduate and
graduate students.With 81 former MIT
alumni having become
Nobel laureates so far, the
Massachusetts
Institute of Technology is one of the
most
selective universities in the world,
accepting
less than 8% of applicants. MIT has rich

5. PRINCETON UNIVERSITY
Another college that boasts a long and
successful history is Princeton, which is
the fourth oldest university in the United
States. It is closely affiliated with quality
education and strong traditions,
especially in
the areas of undergraduate teaching.
The 40
Nobel laureates that have come from
Princeton have come from its selection of
courses in the areas of engineering,
social
sciences, and natural sciences. Although
its
educational offerings are somewhat
limited

6. UNIVERSITY OF CAMBRIDGE, ENGLAND
The university has six schools including

and Humanities, Biological Sciences,

7. IMPERIAL COLLEGE, LONDON
Currently, the college is hosting more

provides courses in science, engineering,

federal University of London, but broke
away to become independent in
2007.There are a total of 15 Nobel

quality

The university was founded in 1868 and

located in San Francisco. It houses about

the list not only because of the high
