Where all the information concerning your site is stored, including but not secluded to the code, the images, videos and all text files reading on your website...


Its like a memory card that is kept somewhere ,anybody that visits you domain name can look into.. Companies sell spaces on these memory cards to developers or website owner's

Webhosting or website hosting simply means allocating a disk space to your domain name.

Let's use what's a bit common to all of us. Let's say your computer hard drive is 250G. You can make partitions in that hard drive as C: drive, D: drive etc. The C: drive maybe 100G, and D: 80G etc. You can create more partitions as you want within the capacity of the drive. That's what website hosting simply is.

In more technical terms, your hard drive above is what is called server. So when you hear a server crashed, it simply means your storage drive is bad.

Now, before you host a website, the website must have a domain name. So below is the process of hosting a website.

a. Pick a domain name and register it. Eg. www.Newskulbiz.com

b. Host the domain name. (allocation of disk space in the server to your domain name www.Newskulbiz.com.

The nameservers of your hosting company will be used to tie your domain name to your hosted website.

The two processes above are usually done together and referred to as website hosting. If you wish, you can register your domain name with one company and then host it with another company. The domain name registrar will only request the nameservers of your hosting company to tie the domain name to the hosting.

Without hosting a website, you cannot upload your developed website online.
