Any Rivers man who claims not to know that it was a vengeance mission by Don Wani's boys because of the earlier attack by Bakassi vigilante isn't frank. Governor Wike doesn't want to admit he failed in the amnesty given to Don Wani last year.

What Rivers state people need is security, not excuses. Governor Wike should get to work and protect his people. Wike, is not far from the truth, yes the IOC in the state are partly to be blame, because they pay these boys so as not to disturb their operations, like the Wike said surveillance contract are given to them.

But the Politicians also use these same boys during election period, so the politicians are not left out, i would advice for a special squad to be set up to handle this issues, because most of the security personnel around are already compromised.

I was in Brass in 1997 when the Brass Vs Okpoma war was sparked of by the double dealing of Agip oil company. In Izombe, Ashland oil company used directional drilling to tap oil from another community because of dispute in community settlements. When the other community discovered it trouble broke out. You may recall that during the Ogoni investigations, it was seen that SPDC(SHELL) officially procured arms.

That's why when I read shit on nairaland by people from other parts of Nigeria blaming the Niger Delta for violence, Militancy and kidnappings I shiver at their ignorance. Multinationals, IOCs, Politicans and Powerful oil bunkers brought violence to the Niger Delta. Where else would rural communities in creeks get thousands of dollars to acquire gunboats, GP Machine guns, artillery and automatic rifles in thousands huh
