we should abandon voting parties and interchange them every 4years not more.

we put a system in place to automaticaly change them.

we just use alphabeticaly order and stop fighting each other every election.

Politicians fail all the time all over the civiliized world and people wait till the election and deal with them.
In Nigeria those people who gave GEJ 99% votes need to imbibe this spirit and not take things so personal.
There is no guarantee that Buhari will lose in 2019 without a plan and a viable alternative. The honest truth is that I do not see it.
Who?
On which platform? WHo will fund it.
The economy has been rough so PDP is broke.
Much as I want Buhari out I just don't see him losing .
Sad truth!

Screaming?
Are they the only Nigerians?
They used their vote and made it count.
Do likewise and stop moaning
Use your vote strategically
You forgot to add SW voted him in 2011 and that shows consistency. They do not keep a dead body in the bedroom and pretend it is asleep .
Just like a good businessman who realises he has overpaid for his goods. He makes sales cuts his losses and moves on and not sentimentally wait for prices to recover
Do YOU want buhari to remain president beyond 2019.

Will you vote for him.

The next election is in 2019 if you are not happy you know what to do. That is the essence of democracy. Goodluck Jonathan failed and was booted out and I hope Buhari is booted out too.
Those who personalise the matter by abusing those who voted him just don't get it. Democracy is not an exam like JAMB or WAEC . People make choices and stand by their choice like adults. It was Nigerians and not Ghanaians that voted him in.So his failure is the failure of ALL Nigerians including those who did not vote.
That is how democracy works.
More importantly maybe we need to look at our system that places so much power in the hands of one man . In the parliamentary system it would have been possible for the party in power to change him before 2019..
Anyway those who did not vote him should stop the blame game The only thing I can say is there is zero difference between him and Jonathan
Your Last statement reeks hypocrisy.

What wise men from the East deciphered two years ago about Pmb is what you are just realizing now..

Too late to join wailers club.

I have come to realise that we won't make much progress no matter who is president especially a northern candidate but if Buhari was up against Jonathan I would vote Buhari.
If Buhari was up against Atiku I would vote Buhari .
The only thing that seems to make a difference inour economy is oil prices and not who is in charge.
The only thing I would vote for against Buhari is a candidate with a clear and unambiguous restructuring agenda

If this is your opinion, then you sure do have your 2015 election sentiments intact.

You should have simply said you still want buhari as president beyond 2019. Simple!!!

You still don't want to see the truth and say it. Hope you read in dele momodu's writeup were he asserted that the present government is worse than the immediate past government.

Only those who have condemned themselves to see things through the prism and narrative of APC will say otherwise. No neutral person will rate buhari's government better than GEJ'S government with all it's faults.

We all know the attempts of condemning both government just to feel good about our electoral decision... That is a weakness on it's own. It comes when all excuses are falling flat.

You can't tell me you are not satisfied with the present government, yet you spend your resources both online and offline, giving them credence. Telling us if it's Atiku against buhari then I will vote buhari..... Absolute BULL!!!

What we should do is to encourage other better candidates to come up, instead of looking for ways to give this buhari support for 2019.

Your words are sentiments and not pragmatic
The fact that we are not satisfied does not mean anything else is better.

Use your vote in the way that is best for you .
GEJ was good for Tompolo but not for others ditto for Buhari.
In 2015 Buhari was not a good candidate just the least bad.
That remains the case today.
Sadly there are no good candidate or if there are they will not be chosen.
I would vote Dangote but he is not interested, I would vote Fashola but he will not get it
So Buhari remains the man to beat

I don't know why this thread was opened. The op doesn't seem to know where it will lead to. Ibos are very pained, bitter, and angry that GEJ was defeated. They had a lot of 'goody goody' under his regime. It never mattered to them whether he was failing or not. Op check the front page yourself and see what I mean. To them, anybody that did not vote for GEJ is an enemy. They are still bitter that their preferred candidate was defeated.
Op to be sincere, you should not have opened this thread because they will only mock you.
The truth of the matter is that I still prefer Buhari to Atiku and Jonathan.
If Atiku runs against Buhari, I will vote Buhari.

I have lived in Nigeria for years and lived abroad for as equal.
The problem with Nigeria when I was fully based in Nigeria is still the same as when I'm in and out.
If you have a family problem, the natural thing is to call yourself and advise your very own self not to go back to the family that wants to kill you.
But Nigerians have always preferred to vote the giant parties of their time whether or not the smaller parties are fielding better technocrats, they don't want to know.

They want to waste their 75yrs of existence voting APC and PDP. Can't we open our eyes and run from our family problem for ONCE?
angry
Nigeria Problems Many. Even If them Vote in Kowa, that Party Go wan become big, and by so doing Accept all the polical Prostitutes in this Country. Thats the Same Thing APC did and are still doing...to be the only viable Party...so that whether they perform or not, the people wont have any Options.

If Kowa wins 2019, PDP and APC members would hijack it. Nigerian politicians do have principles. And the people have failed to punish they for that

How was it a blunder?
That is emotional?
The same south west that voted GEJ in 2011? Was that a blunder? Or were we not here while he reigned.? Why don't we bring him back for PDP in 2019.?
The reality is that GEJ was a disaster and we were right to boot him out.
We cannot pretend even if drunk that GEJ was good for this country
What should concern you more is who is the candidate that can defeat Buhari, if such a candidate does not emerge the SW will vote him again. Attempts to play the guilt card with the SW cannot work it is patently childish. What we are interested in is our own interest .
We learnt a lot from GEJ about our so called partners in the south. As far as the SW is concerned Buhari is better than GEJ
I think the point should continue to be made that the Yorubas did not go with Jonathan not because he was incompetent, but because GEJ played politics of exclusion of the Southwest, and this was mainly at the instance of the Igbos. Objectively speaking GEJ is the best president Nigeria has ever had. Igbos wanted to lord it over Yorubas, and voting Buhari was just a reaction, kaka ki kiniun se akapo ekun, oni kaluku a d'ode tie lotooto. Yoruba will not have Igbo overlords, it is better for all of us to be slaves of the Fulani, and we know who the people who have been worse off in this deal.

We must keep this in mind objectively, Yoruba margin of votes for Buhari was only about 500k, negligible.

It was a reaction

Jonathan was incompetent please.
Millions of people voted against him in the SW surely their reasons are diverse and cannot be reduced to so called politics of exclusion alonemail though that was a factor.
Politically did he exclude SW more than Obasanjo?
Fact is politically he did not have any structure in the SW and he allowed PDP in the region to die which was just inexperience.
Elections have always been rigged in the SW.
Who was the biggest figure from the SW in Shagari's government? Still in the so called Verdict 83 he managed to get a good spread using a Yoruba IGP
Tell the families of those whose loved ones died in the stadium employment exam that he was the best president ever.
The Yoruba margin for Buhan has to be compared to 2011 when Buhari could not make the statutory 25 % across the region.
One error people commonly make is to look at number of votes neglecting spread.
In presidential elections spread is very important and means a candidate with fewer votes can win an election .
Without the SW Buhari would not fulfil the spread criteria even with overall majority whereas GEJ did in the north.
So his triumph in the SW must be compared to his results in 2015. It was the SWING that made ALL the difference

Incompetent by whose standards, yours? The one you replaced him with how has he fared, how competent has he turned out to be? What does this say about your perceptive and discerning competence as a voter seeing that you replaced whips with scorpions?

GEJ margin of loss in the SW was a negligible 500k spread across 5 or six states, it was not any swing, the election was a clear case of majority win, GEJ had 12m and Buhari had 15m with Kano alone giving 1m. That number will never go down! But this is a discussion for another day.

GEJ played politics of SW exclusion powered by Igbo arrogance and naivete, this is why he lost the election, not forgetting the influence of external powers who wanted him out in furtherance of their agenda over Nigeria.

There is no opposition power that can defeat an incumbent president in Nigeria, lai lai, but GEJ lost, it was the external factor not the internal one I assure you.
