Itsekiri in Delta State has commended the Federal Government for intervening in the looming controversy over the naming of the Maritime University site in Delta state, noting that the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN), affirmation of the change of name from the false ijaw Okerenkoko to Okerenghigho its original form is an uncontested one.

The Ologbotsere of Warri kingdom, Chief Ayiri Emami, made this disclosure in an interview with newsmen yesterday in Warri, while expressing Itsekiri’s position on the development.

Chief Ayiri Emami “All relevant legal documents, court judgments and history supports the fact that the site of the Maritime university in Warri South West local government area, belongs to Itsekiri . “It is not surprising that the current Attorney General did the needful by affirming Itsekiri’s ownership of the university site based on court judgment.

“We are not against the university, but what is worth doing is worth doing well”.

The Ologbotsere also enjoined all to embrace peace and let the university move forward while noting that anyone trying to ferment trouble through unguarded utterances and threats of violence should be brought before the law.

Ayiri emami using legal and diplomacy to get things done while that foolish guy called tompolo is hiding

Less I forget that mazi is now a fugitive rather than him using his agitation to coy good things to his region

He's busy preaching hatred

Hate is as blind as love. But one thing is certain, the ijaws are moving forward irrespective of their blind haters within n outside the ND region.
If this is true, then just keep calm n watch how things will go.
Obaseki has surrendered, more victories are awaiting d ijaws...

It's so obvious you are consumed with so much hate and bitterness in the heart which is blatantly noticed in the trash u typed. As a true ijaw son, I won't stoop so low to reply u undeplomatically as it won't in anyway soften ur stony heart.
Hatred doesn't pay no matter how n where u apply it...

the civil war dealt a lot to the Igbos otherwise port Harcourt would still be in their grip.

these ijaws are just a pest too many, always land grabbing. they claim to be the 4th largest group bur in all my life I've never seen an ijaw man and I've visited ph, calabar, enugu, abakaliki, asaba, uyo, owerri, aba, and even benin.

it just seems they're only seen in the streets of yenagoa, those ants in their tiny enclave of bayelsa must stop making baseless ownership and exaggerated overpopulation.

who dash them 15million population.

Ijaw tribe is no more than 2million in Nigeria and abroad which is less than the population of Ebonyi state.

The Izon otu have been progressing steadily in the nation called Nigeria, and despite marginalisation , they have held virtually every major position obtainable in this country and will do more, Something your people will never smell in a 100 years, every benifit accrued to the Niger delta is gotten from the Ijaw struggle which is now synonymous with the Niger delta region, other tribes have started aligning their interest with that of the Ijaws for e.g the Ogonis and Igbos, the Ijaws never changed names in the Ikwerre part of port harcourt, rumu or umu has no meaning in our language so its change is of no benefit to us, the Ikwerres decided to name their communities in their own language/dialect to reflect their own identity, after it was changed by igbos who dominated the den eastern region, it has nothing to do with Ijaw and anyone who implies that is grossly ignorant

I don't know why my Ijaw brothers could possibly stoop so low in joining issues with Itsekiri. I can never, I repeat, I can never stoop so low to have such a discourse with the Itsekiri. If they have the guts, they should go and change the name on the bill currently passing through the legislative process in the NASS.

AGF just wrote a letter and they are masturbating over it. Worst case scenario, the bill will be stood down until the Buhari government is buried come 2019 then we can have the university in place.

Itsekiri is too small to join issues with.
