zakim: ABU is located North of the Sahara? South of the Limpopo River? East of the Equator? Chai!!! Stop disgracing ABU graduates, if you can't correctly give the simple geographical coordinates of your school! And where on earth is The Mahaha? I don't like seeing deliberate rubbish!! 2 Likes |

ThaCayman: Don't mind all these ignorant people saying what they don't know. Seriously, the way that school is going, in the next few years, it will become a glorified secondary school. They're bent on islamising the school and it's staff. If you see the quality of lecturers in some departments, you will weep, and that's just because they're from the north and are Muslims. You will score high as a Southerner, but will be ignored for someone from the north who didn't even meet cut off mark. I have friends who had to change their state of origin just to get admission, and that's after spending four years doing diploma and higher disploma. Instead of being offered admission via special admission they will be denied, even those who had distinction, but someone from the North with a pass result will be offered admission. A school where lecturers instead of lecturing students on how to be broad-minded about issues, will resort to indoctrination and ethnic and religious bigotry. What about not giving first class students from the south an automatic lecturing job, yet never deny first class students from the north same? I have a friend in this situation presently... Let's leave this matter here.... anyone who doesn't have facts about something shouldn't talk about it. 2 Likes |

Petdagr8t:The answer is very simple.Your tribe is the reason. Note that the Nigerian law does not work in the north, they have their own orders that they follow and they can shout one Nigeria than anybody. 3 Likes |

[quote author=Petdagr8t post=64098278]No bro, I disagree with you on these, even if there are those that scored better than I in 2017 Jamb I believe they might have applied for other courses rather than political science. I can prove it with some statistics I obtained from Jamb which shows that many failed to reach the general cut off mark of 180. And again I met some academic and non academic staff of that same A.B.U who assured me that my results merited admission on the first list but alas! only to dash my hopes on a rock.In absence of tribalism 267 can go for political science in any of Nigerian universities. That is the problem with students these days. you feel BC you have a score of 267 then you must be admitted. Did you do your research well? Did you find out other criteria for admission? Every university in Nigeria has a catchment area. The truth is ABU gives admission to candidates from each state of the federation, but the 19 northern states are the universities catchment area. BTW don't push every thing down to tribalism and nepotism. ABU is fair to all when it comes to admissions. |
