This things mostly happen in Edo and Delta and Edo related groups. Eg. Dein of Agbor crowned at age 2, Obi of Ubulu Uku at age 15 and Isele Uku in his early twenties or thereabout.

wow! this one was born with a gold and silver spoon. But let's praise the chiefs and Co who made sure the son inherited the throne of his father when some bad belle people could have conspired against him.

See what watching too many nollywood films have done to you?

When Oba Ovoramen was betrayed which led to his deportations to calabar by chief obaseki why did the gods not destroy chief obaseki rather his grandson grew to become the Governor of Edo State.
That is true, my students told me the story how the grandfather of Gov. Godwin Obaseki betrayed the Oba but the irony of it is, the Obaseki family are still successful. It means the gods are powerless.

the head of a Yoruba king must not be seen like this. a Yoruba king must wear either crown or cap,he should rather wear skull cap(Kufi) instead of leaving his makes head like that. you can never see any Yoruba king's head except it he had not become king then, its a taboo in Yorubaland for a king's head to be seen

Only one lesson learnt.... A town that has responsible elders is not hard to spot..a king who rules well is also not difficult to recognize. The late king's goodwill follows his children....I nor knw say beta pple de Edo state ooo...wow

Nothing is wrong, the ancient Egypt had a pharaoh, called Tutankhamun, he ascended the throne at age of 9 or 10. He was among the most famous Pharaoh and his reign was one of the best, but died at the age of 20.

An Onogie/Enogie is a Duke not a King. Our only King is Omo n'Oba n'Edo. My grandmother's nephew is also an Onogie by the way.

What you seem to forget is that the elite, aristocratic elite and royalty are often related such as through marriage. For example Agho Obaseki married a daughter of Oba Ovonramwen and another daughter of Oba Eweka II.

Along the line reconciliation and appeasement will have been done.

Agho Obaseki was actually an opportunist. Like we have in every sphere of life everywhere.

We should remember that Agho Obaseki's grandfather Osifo Oyoo was from Nsukwa in Anioma. Osifo sent his son Ogbeide Oyoo to accompany Prince Erediauwa (later became Oba Oswemwende, reigned 1816 to 1848) to Benin. To re-claim the throne from his brother. Ogbeide later became a sceptre bearer (a low palace staff) when Osemwende became King. Through Oba Osemwnde to Oba Adolo (reigned 1848 to 1888) and Oba Ovonramwen's reign, the Ogbeide/Osifo family rose in palace to become Chief Ineh (head chief of the royal bronze casters guild and also member of the third palace society that looks after royal princes & princesses/royal household called Ibiwe palace society.

Oba Ovonramwen purposely created the chieftaincy title "Obaseki" for his childhood friend in the palace. Agho's dad being in charge of royal children, he was able to mingle with Oba's children growing up together and garnered influence through friendship with The Crown Prince who later became Oba Ovonramwen. But Obaseki later betrayed Ovonramwen & Benin's interest. If you give an inch to upstarts, they will take a yard.

Even though Agho Obaseki had become an Edo person through birth in Benin, I guess he had no true loyalty to Benin.

At least the version above is the official Obaseki family version. Their claim to entitlement in Benin was that their ancestor, the Obi of Nsukwa
was a son of Oba Akengbuda (ruled from 1750 to 1804) of Benin.

The version has not been corroborated by any official history or historians. Their supposed historical royal ties to Oba Akengbuda certainly not.

lol...ara owine...I think tribe and ethnicity should be isolated here...Because its your right as a Nigerian to learn your history and get your facts right..

Sadly owine people no longer pay attention to history most y2k children rather use big headphones, watch porns and look for girls online and troll celebrities at the expense of their knowledge..

Make no mistake...Age has nothing to do with the amount of knowledge u amasse because even when i was 14 i wined and dined with adults because i brought great ideas with me everywhere i go..Because i study every minute i could from real books there was no internet..

Y2k kids got internet to be better than me but chose to do otherwise and ridicule the actual intent of the technology which was to educate and liberate naive minds..

When i was in university i liked to always meet jambites then because of their fresh minds brain sparkling...Sadly today we can't say same again...The decay and degredation in 17yrs morally and educationally is alarming to say the least.

Lastly bro...I'm yoruba just like the kid...And i don't think I'm proud of what you said considering the history of yorubaz and Edos...Unless you want to enlighten me on something i don't know putting into cognizance i was born early 80s.

Yes they are 100% ok. The throne is hereditory unlike yorubaland where politicians install kings and make them puppets.

But girls where even slapping your ooni's head before politicians made him king out of the blues unlike this young king who was already the heir to the throne from birth.

In Yoruba land kings are made while here in Edo and esan etc kings are born.
They don't have king makers like the Yoruba's as there is no need for them

no,there is nothing like king being born in Yoruba land, you contest for it and could lead to the death of many in some cases. that's why its better to born a king and crown the born king rather than cause conflicts and deaths in the society
