If you are serious about keeping animals you must feed them grain.
Grass is a very inefficient way of producing beef and a luxury we cannot afford in Nigeria we do not have that kind of land.
There are high yield maize and soya varieties that are used elsewhere. That is the way to go..Even cassava but they must either buy it or grow it.
Poultry farmers have done this for ever.
The final point is this who owns the cows?
How much tax do they pay?
What value do cows add to out tax revenue. ..?

3) grazing land should be adequately fenced and local indigene should be used as security

4) open land grazing law should be enacted with serous fine. Nobody should be seen with cattle on roads or Street

5) adequate transportation should be provided to move this life stock from one grazing reserve to another..

What do you know about subsistence farming? Kenyans who have 3-5 cows in their stalls are the key contributors to the billions of litre of fresh milk produced in Kenya every year, with your 11 million cattle we are still importing powdered milk, what a shame!

So if 5,000 households in Abia is producing 200 litres each on a daily basis which amounts to 1,000,000 litres of milk with a market value of N400m and N12 billion monthly, you will still call that subsistence farming?

Abia state is NOT a coward state. We have made it clear to all and sundry. In fact in umuahia alone, the piggery business has since commenced to chase those northern residents and to also downplay their beef business. They should move their stupid grazing reserve to the sambisa forest, and use truck and train to move meat or live cows to the south on demand. That's how business is done. Imagine how many jobs will be created in the transport/ploil and gas sector just by this simple act of modernisation.
