Why Is Adsense The Only Revenue Model For Nigerian Bloggers? by olyrayy(m): 8:57pm On Jan 12, 2018
Good day. One question that has been bordering me is why most Nigerian blogs use adsense as their revenue model. For instance, in a lot of foreign blogs, they create their own products and sell. But in Nigeria, I haven't seen any blog that sells its own product.

There might be blogs like this that I've missed. If I have, please do tell me. Thanks.

I wonder why you're bothered smiley Well, I'm a Nigerian blogger and I currently adopt any monetization strategy you can think of. I have blogs that generate income via Adsense, and I have affiliate niche sites. I also have a blog on which I sell my own products.

That said, I think most Nigerian bloggers opt for Adsense because it's seemingly easy. All you need is good traffic, and you're good to go. Affiliate marketing and product creation are not so straightforward, but the good thing about both is that you don't need as much traffic to make decent income from them as you would for Adsense

AdSense is the simplest way of monetizing your blog and the best part is that it needs little or no maintenance.

Then secondly, the simple but painful truth is that most of you Nigerians don't buy stuff like online digital goods that much.

Some are afraid of using their cards online, some are still languishing in ignorance of how easy it is to buy things online whereas most are just looking for free content or products!

So most Nigerian bloggers are just stuck with AdSense, kind off...

You can also monetize your blog through sponsored post whereby people pay you to put up posts on your blog for them but that means your blog must be an already well established or well known blog before you can monetize through that way.

Simple.

Considering Nigerian traffic, they're the BEST.

If you're a sales person, wouldn't you sell your product (in this case, ad space) to the highest bidder?

AdSense is the simplest for them because they find a way to use black hat against Google. so most times it's free money, no SEO guru will focus on AdSense alone considering the poor quality of Nigerian traffic.

I also think AdSense pays less than CPA, Aff marketing, information product marketing etc AdSense should just be an addition

Adsense is the easiest ads network to meet their requirements.

But recently, because of unscrupulous Nigerians attitudes, Adsense has made it difficult for Nigerians to be accepted into the Adsense network.

Adsense is one of the most trusted ads network for publishers, but Nigerians have made difficult for newbies to enjoy too

At www.brainnewsradio.com we make atleast 20-60 dollars daily, and we are been paid at the end of the month without delay

Also we use many other services on our portal to generate cash too. Like Amazon, Jumia affiliate programmes, music promotion etc.

It's more straightforward I think.
Just like Freelancers use Fiverr, Freelancer and other established platforms paying the 20% fee rather than setting up their own site.

It's not easy on the net mehn, you have to establish a name or links before you can self venture.
