Law 39: Stir Up Waters to Catch Fish.

Anger and emotion are strategically counterproductive. You must always stay calm and objective. But if you can make your enemies angry while staying calm yourself you gain a decided advantage.

Work wonders in business and relationships grin

The Bible, the Quran, the constitution of the federal republic doesn't mean a thing to Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state. It is known fact that him and his chief of staff only applies what the get from this book to rule the Kogi people. 48laws of Governor Bello.

I hate that particular one, it doeant go down well with me at alI. I Feel it is Cheating. How do you take credit for someone else's work just because they are your subordinate? At least acknowledge their role in whatever it is they did.

Number 1 is still sacrosanct. Without playing by the tenets of the first rule, one can't get far.

Also 48 laws is common now, try and get other books written by the same author like 33 strategies of war and mastery.

You should have listed all the laws...

That way we could take a pick.. Not all must have read the book

List of the 48 laws of power..

1. Never outshine the mastenemies

2. Never put too much trust in friends, learn how to use enemies

3. Conceal your intentions.

4. Always say less than necessary

5. So much depends on reputation. Gaurd it with your life

6. Create an air of mystery

7. Get others to do the work for you, but always take the credit

8. Make other people come to you. Use bait if necessary

9. Win through your actions, never through arguments.

10. Infection: avoid the unhappy and unlucky

11. Learn to keep people dependent on you.

12. Use selective generosity and honesty to disarm your victim

13. When asking for help, appeal to their self interest, not to their mercy or gratitude

14. Pose as a friend, work as a spy

15. Crush your enemy totally

16, use absence to increase respect and honor

17. Keep others in suspense, cultivate an air of unpredictability

18. Do not build fortresses to protect thyself, isolation is dangerous

19. Know who you are dealing with. Do not offend the wrong person. (Sadly, the Nigerian police are fond of being foolish at this..)

20. Do not commit to anyone ( loverboys have you heard)

21. Play a sucker to catch a sucker : seem dumber than your mark

Someone hasn't read a book but u want the person to pick his best law from a list of laws he knows nothing about how?e be like say u go need to read d book again..

I like the book and all laws are acceptable if you take the Reversals to mind.

It's just a book that will make you trust less and help you curb the illusion of love.

Very few people love truly. The rest want something. Some is to feel self gratified, some others is to create smoke screens (impression of being kind-hearted).

You can't review that book in a million words. It's just too broad.

Read the book and will still read it if not that a friend that barely reads stole it (goes to show how persuasive that book is) grin

All in all, I still feel the book will make you want to model yourself to some of it's laws but if you're foolish enough, you wouldn't take the Reversals to heart and that will be your undoing.

In life, in every situation, as a human, a sensible person, Know what you want and make sure after all the chit chats and mumbo-jumbo you leave each situation with what you want else,, make I no talk.... wink

sad

The author of that book has this evil aura which can be felt through reading his books.

I read one of his books, 'The art of Seduction' about 8 years ago and I started feeling so different from who I used to be. Nevertheless, I completed the massive book but picked the good points and dropped the bad ones
Exactly! It was the same thing I did.I picked the right ones and abandoned the wrong ones.

Never outshine the matter.
This has proven to be true in my life. I notice the brewing battle whenever I excelled or took steps that made me look beta than my superior.
So I learnt to notice the crumbs and do the needful.

I really do not need to see Robert Greene to kno the kind of person he is.
But I can say he's more evil than good.
On the contrary the guy is just your average joe who was smart enough to know that writing a book to serve the interest of the naturally selfish man will put money into his account than his job then...
Infact, he lives a modest life and even confirmed that he doesn't follow the laws himself...
