Taxi Business In Accra, Ghana As A Nigerian. by mryoung16: 4:31am On Jan 14, 2018
Can someone advise me on how one can set up a taxi business in Ghana?

-what are the step by step way of setting such business up as a Nigerian though i plan to set it up with my wife's name because she is Ghanaian but born and brought up in Nigeria.

- Considering the unpredictable traffic situation in some parts of Ghana, is it lucrative?

- How much on the average can one make weekly, working from morning till evening daily excluding weekends?
- Any useful info will be appreciated...

Good Morning & Happy Sunday. I can advise you @mryoung16, but I need more information. Are you trying to set up something like Uber or do you plan on buying a few cars and leasing them to people so that they can use them as taxi? Like what is your plan? Also what is your budget? Do you reside in Nigeria or Ghana? If you reside in Nigeria (or anywhere not in Ghana), then how often do you plan on visiting Ghana?

@mryoung16, no need to call me boss. You are good my brotha. If that is the case, I think it all comes down to trust, the experience and personality of the driver. The business is lucrative and it is a great idea but a good driver will make you gain profit while a bad driver will make you lose profit. No matter how great the tools are, if they are being used by a bad, lazy, untrustworthy and inexperienced farmer, it will only produce bad crops. Have you screened or interviewed anyone for the position? I feel like that is where you should be concerned. Unless you plan on giving it to a family member or in laws (i.e your wife's family members). If this is what you plan on doing, you should really think about it. Me personally, I don't support doing business with family, because I wouldn't want to angry with them over something like money, but maybe you are different.

well, thanks bro. i know a Ghanaian introduced to me by my brother in law, you know these drivers are always funny but my wife isn't smiling so i believe she can monitor him well before my monthly show up.

-2ndly, do you know much about the business? how to get the car registered there and get it on the road?

-Whats the weekly income/monthly?

-Finally, do you think i wont have any problem buying a small Mazda car here in Lagos and driving it to Ghana? i mean border custom wahala.
