Who told you that? Kindly tell me the name of the person.

We've been accepting applications for Pet & Gas lecturing jobs. Even though it wasn't on the original advert due to some technical issues, it was later approved and I did drop a note to that effect on platforms.

Lol. You lot made it seem like it was not big deal, no?

Anyhoo, It was delivered. While I was there, I saw the ones delivered and others being delivered.

Be sure your documents are intact though, else, it will be tossed. The documents delivered by courier could be at least 5000 by my estimate. IF the staff are dedicated enough to even open all of it, I doubt anyone would have the time to call you to point out errors or whatever.

As far as delivery go, I believe they were.

Thanks bro. But when u talk of errors, what exactly are we looking at? Grammatical, or mal-arrangement of documents in a certain fashion?

My third referee is sending his on Monday, I hope they don't have the same deadline with us.

it's a bit of both. For instance, an application without the 3 referees letter is filed as 'incomplete' and put aside.
I am no authority on the process, I just happen to be an observant person. So, those were my observations.

That's serious. But you know that our referees may not have time to even write these letters as at when we need them. How do we then ensure that the whole letters arrive as at when needed? Like mine, I have sent two, the last one is to be sent by Monday.

It's probably nothing to you...The staff there are extremely kind and patient. They take their time to open up and go through your documents, let you know if there are certain corrections to be made and help rearrange if the need be.
For instance, I applied for lecturer 2 but going through my documents, the guy made me understand I am more suited for lecturer 1. I had to retype the whole thing. Same with most people there. I mean, a guy came in from kaduna to submit his application...kaduna to warri is far enough and we spent at least 1hr on water. Some people just know what they want. I too once travelled from the south South to A.B.U zaria to submit an application. While it's no job guarantee, I felt at peace knowing where my documents went and enjoyed the experience.

There are things I'd rather not talk about but if you are close enough...go there, pick out your document from the parcel section(yes, it got delivered)and submit it YOURSELF. You'll understand better then.

Again, it's probably nothing.

Overall, I think the recruitment process will be very fair. The community is a beautiful one too.

In short, I agree with you that those guys are really patient and diligent in attending to applicants. I really commend them.

Thank you for posting the vacancies here. However, pls, let the guys there know that some of us applied based on the info received through Nairaland because they almost refused to collect mine saying that I applied for what I wasn't qualified for. When I referred the guy to Nairaland, he said they never advertised it on the net and he brought out a daily for me to confirm. Sadly, the info was different but he eventually accepted my application.

Here's what I think, they'd need to sort all of those sent recommendation letters by attaching them to the corresponding applications.

I believe the decison by most people to send it along with their application was the prudent one.

Just my thoughts.

True.

I was more surprised by the community though. I expected zinc and thatched houses. Yeah, I kinda stereotyped them already, my bad. Lol.

I hope this works out for us all. Lord knows we, I need this.

I pray it works too. Many of us were surprised at the development there. I want to believe it was a conscious undertaking by the govt and community to give the place a facelift. It's worth it.

How prudent? We were not supposed to even see the letter going by the laws stated (In absolute confidence)
But it's all good. My desire for the academia is one that is very unquenchable. May favour locate us all. Amen

one barrister Charles.. the guy collecting from Engineering, He said petroleum and Gas is not in the list...I tried explaining to him, even shown him the advert from nairaland, but to no avail ..I ended up submitting for chemical engineering but I still prefer petroleum and Gas. what should I do now? I left the place yesterday

I confirmed what you said to be true. It was due to a little breakdown in communication.

You would need to send me your full names, Department/ position applied for. Necessary switch would be made before the interview.

Thanks for your observation.

The thing is, there is a chain of info dissemination. For now, I am the online eye. The ad hoc staff were meant to have been briefed by the VC but she has been extremely busy with mad schedule between states.

However, thanks to people like you, I would hence on synch with them.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

The application for Senior Lecturers, Lecturer I & II and Graduate assistants for the Department of Petroleum and Gas is still on going even though the deadline for others has passed.

This is due to the fact that ;

1. Approval for these departments came in when Advert had been sent out.

2. A lot experienced some challenges when trying to submit their application for these departments.

Same requirements as contained in the first advert

Those who successfully applied, kindly note that we would reach you soon with your interview details.

Once this is sorted out and Academic staff are on ground, Non Academic staff recruitment and Admission Processes would commence.

Keep checking this page and kindly Spread the News!
